Nissan Maxima gets new standard features for 2017

640 × 480
I like the 2016 Nissan Maxima. It’s a good looking car that has one leg in the sensible category and one leg in the more interesting category. After the redesign, there is very little to do to improve the looks of this car, so Nissan have instead begun adding extra standard features.

New features include Apple CarPlay integration across all trim levels, bringing the Maxima into line with other premium sedans. A new Dynamic Package is being made available for the Maxima SV trim that adds a new spoiler, alloy wheels, side rocker and kick plate.

A new Midnight Edition will also appear, offering 19 inch black alloy wheels, rear spoiler and rear diffuser. Finally, the Platinum trim gets a Medallion upgrade featuring an upgraded spoiler, 18 inch alloy wheels, backlit kick plates, interior ambient lighting and exterior ground lighting.

All extra features should be available now or very soon.

2016 Nissan Maxima
The 2016 Nissan Maxima has hit the market with a bang. After a brief break, the redesigned family sedan is well and truly back in the running.

The new styling is a triumph. It transforms what was fairly pedestrian styling of the previous model into something far more appealing. It has a sporty appearance with lots of panel detailing across the entire car. The front and rear end are both superb in terms of appeal and design.

The interior has also been given a makeover, with a much more modern and refined feel. Materials are top quality, as is the finishing. The new dashboard and controls take the best of the previous model and raises the game. The centre stack is nicely laid out and has an innovative smartphone holder and USB ports for easy integration. Passenger space is pretty good too.

The engine matches the sporty looks of the 2016 Nissan Maxima. There is a 3.5-litre V6 from previous models that has been updated to deliver 300 hp and 261 lb-ft of torque alongside better gas mileage. It utilizes a CVT transmission to send power to the front wheels.

Safety is a key feature too. The 2016 Nissan Maxima has antilock brakes, traction and stability control, front seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and a rearview camera as standard. Options include blind-spot monitoring system,  360-degree parking camera system with a moving object detection system, rear cross-traffic alert and a forward collision warning and mitigation system with automatic braking.

The 2016 Nissan Maxima is a fantastic car for the money and drives as good as it looks. Visit Visit Collins Nissan, 155 Scott Street, St. Catharines, Ontario, L2N 1H3 to book a test drive.
