Mopar showcases over 200 parts for 2019 Ram 1500

600 × 354
The 2019 Ram 1500 hasn’t even been released yet but tuning house Mopar is already showing us some of the goodies we will be able to bolt onto the Ram when it arrives. Using the 2018 Chicago Auto Show as a platform, the range of products is as wide as it is interesting.

Mopar has never disappointed when it comes to aftermarket parts to brighten up a Ram truck. This year looks no different. With over 200 brand new parts designed specifically for the 2019 Ram 1500, choice is something you will not be short of when it comes time to customize your truck.

The main image is of the 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn with a slew of Mopar parts. It has an adjustable Ram Rack to hold the surfboards that can be configured for a range of uses. It also has black trim parts, a lift kit, off-road tires, 18 inch black and red alloy wheels, a step by the rear bumper and black running boards. The truck as a whole looks sweet!

This truck also has some Mopar mods under the skin in the form of a cold intake and cat-back exhaust. It doesn’t change power output but will provide a throatier note when you put your foot down.

This is just one example of the customization options that will be available when the 2019 Ram 1500 comes to town. If you have the parts fitted at the factory, they will have the same warranty as the rest of the vehicle too.

2019 Ram 1500
The 2019 Ram 1500 is all new. From the very front to the tailpipes, every aspect has been looked at and updated where necessary. This truck is now lighter, stronger and better looking than ever. While cosmetic updates seem minor, the cumulative effect is much farther reaching.

An aluminium hood and tailgate help save weight while a new chassis is stronger and lighter. Apparently, the truck is 225 pounds lighter in all.

The design will be familiar to current Ram fans but should also appeal to those who thought it needed an update. A new grille, new lights, new lower sill and fairly familiar hood tell you it’s a Ram right away while the truck as a whole looks much more modern.

The cabin has also been updated. The same quality and features are still present but in newer form. An optional 12 inch display will dominate the centre stack while USB ports, cubbies and all the practicalities we like are all still here.

Under the hood will be either a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine that produces 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque or a 5.7-litre Hemi V8 that generates 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. The Pentastar is coming with the eTorque system which is a mild hybrid unit that mates a 48V system to the V6. It is optional on the Hemi and exact details will be forthcoming soon.

I am looking forward to the arrival of the 2019 Ram 1500. It ups the ante to the rest of the truck market and should trigger some updates from rivals very soon.
