Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk

Chrysler reserved the name "Trackhawk" last year and we got quite excited.
Given the Trailhawk was a special edition with lots of off-road chops, we were
hoping that the Trackhawk was going to be a performance variant of one of our
favourite SUVs. We weren't wrong.

According
to FCA, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is going to feature the Hellcat engine.
The engine is currently serving the Dodge Charger SRT and Challenger SRT very
well indeed and it looks to be making its way to a Cherokee very soon.

You
probably know all about the Hellcat engine by now but we can't help talking
about it. It's a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 motor that produces 707 hp and 650
lb-ft of torque. Mated to a performance transmission, it should be enough to
send the Cherokee from 0-60 in under 4 seconds.

Apparently,
FCA engineers are still trying to work out how to harness all that power for
the Grand Cherokee. There are issues around "resolving torque-induced
durability issues" with the four-wheel drive system that need to be ironed
out before this vehicle hits production. That could either be by limiting
torque in lower gears or fitting more performance parts.

2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The new Jeep
Grand Cherokee is superb. With the Mercedes-Benz M-Class platform, the ride
characteristics and handling is excellent. Combined with solid engines, a good
transmission and a fantastic design and luxurious interior, the Cherokee has
come on in leaps and bounds. It's now an SUV we would like to own ourselves.

The new
design introduced four years ago caused a bit of a stir when it first arrived.
Yet it has proven its worth and alongside the mechanical and technological
improvements have turned many doubters into fans.

The ability
to do just about anything from haul cargo, tow, to spending all day comfortably
on the highway has delivered a solid SUV to market that is going down a storm.
It is Chrysler's best-selling SUV and will remain so for a while now thanks to
how it has advanced.

The
standard engine in the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a 3.6-litre V6 that produces
290 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. There are options to have a 5.7-litre V8 that's
good for 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque on higher trims and of course, the SRT
comes with a 6.4-litre V8 engine that delivers 475 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.

The 2015
Jeep Grand Cherokee is an excellent choice for anyone looking for that do it
all vehicle that offers luxury and comfort for good measure. Check it out at UniqueChrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, 915 Walkers Line, Burlington, ON  L7N 3V8!
