2019 Dodge Durango being upgraded with SRT parts

640 × 363
Dodge look to have been raiding the SRT parts bin for upgrades for the new 2019 Dodge Durango. While it may be seen as a somewhat lazy move, it is far from it. No Durango owner is going to turn down some trick parts usually only seen on SRT or R/T models!

The 2019 Dodge Durango will feature the SRT front end with fog lights and more aggressive look. It will also have the great looking hood with centre inlet vent and two heat vents as an option. It is only about the looks though as there are no SRT parts being added to the powertrain. That makes sense though as something has to keep the two models distinct.

2019 Dodge Durango
Aside from a little SRT goodness, the new Durango sees minor changes. New wheels, new Harmon Kardon audio, new trailer brake and presumably interior updates too. There will apparently be three new colour options, Reactor Blue, Destroyer Grey and F8 Green. Aside from some trim shuffling there are no headline changes coming that we yet know of.

The Durango has always been a good looking SUV. With these new SRT options, even the base model looks good. The interiors look and feel just as good too. A spacious cabin with good levels of materials, finishing and comfort are typical across the range. Visibility is good all around, interior space is generous and levels of technology aren’t bad either.

Under the hood is one of three engines. The Pentastar V6, a 3.6-litre engine that produces 295 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, a 5.7-litre V8 that produces 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque and a 6.4-litre V8 that delivers 475 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. All use a composed automatic transmission to deliver power to the rear or all wheels.

As for safety, the Durango can come with pre-collision warning and braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, rear parking sensors, lane-departure warning and lane-keep assist. What is standard and what is not depends on the trim level you choose.

The same SXT, GT, citadel and SRT trims will be available and will offer a wide range of features. The base SXT trim comes with rear wheel drive, the V6 engine, two rows of seating, keyless engine start, leather steering wheel, 7 inch touchscreen and colour trip computer. From there you can add leather interior, LED lighting, dual exhausts, 20 inch alloy wheels, the V8 engines and anything else you might like too.

The 2019 Dodge Durango is shaping up nicely. With these new SRT parts options, its going to look better than ever too!
