2016 Nissan Murano & Maximo Safety Recall

2016 Nissan Murano & Maximo Safety Recall

640 × 480
Nissan North America will be recalling 2016 Nissan Murano SUVs and 2016 Nissan Maxima sedans within the next few weeks. The recall affects 12,616 vehicles in both the U.S. and Canada. The recall is for potential issue with the antilock brakes.

The recalls are for 2016 Nissan Murano manufactured between December 17 2015 and February 11 2016 and 2016 Nissan Maxima manufactured between November 25 2015 and February 12 2016.

The issue is linked to a possibly damaged O-ring within the antilock brake actuator. In affected vehicles, the O-ring can leak and lower brake fluid pressure which can lead to longer braking distance and less effective braking. Nissan said that no owners have yet been affected by the issue and this recall is purely precautionary.

If you own either of these vehicles, you will receive a notification within the next few weeks. Alternatively, book a service at your nearest Car Nation Canada location and we’ll take care of it for you.

2016 Nissan Murano

The 2016 Nissan Murano is a midsize crossover SUV with space for five adult passengers. It’s a slick design that manages to look ultra-modern and friendly and approachable at the same time. With the signature Nissan quality, it’s a great bet for stylish families.

The design of the 2016 Nissan Murano is excellent. The Nissan grille and badge takes pride of place while the shaped headlights offer interest. Shaped side panels from the front fender, down the side and through the rising beltline also add some nice detailing, while the little hump over the rear wheel arch finishes the profile with a flourish.

Inside, the cabin is spacious, well-appointed and quiet. Build quality is super, as you would expect from Nissan. Features and options are plentiful and the design complements the modern exterior. Seating is well laid out and comfortable and there is enough room for five adults with some left over for cargo in back.

The 3.5-litre V6 engine delivers 260 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque. The CVT transmission sends power to the front or all wheels. The drive is smooth, power delivery steady and the transmission is so much better than CVTs of old.

With four trim levels, S, SV, SL and Platinum, the 2016 Nissan Murano can be configured to be as luxurious and as feature-packed as you like. You can specify everything from navigation to panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats all round to automatic emergency braking.
