Nissan Titan Warrior Concept

Nissan Titan Warrior Concept

Having seen the 2016 Nissan Titan XD and liked what I saw, I was extra pleased to see the Nissan Titan Warrior Concept at Detroit last week. It’s the same generation as the XD but only a concept with no details on whether it will ever see production. After seeing it, I sincerely hope it does!

The Nissan Titan Warrior Concept builds on the Titan XD with its 5.0-litre Cummins diesel and six speed automatic transmission. The design team then added exterior trim, off-road suspension, new 18 inch wheels with 37 inch tyres, wider body kit and other touches. The best thing about the concept is that it takes the fight straight to the Ford Raptor without copying anything from it. This is all Nissan.
Check it out here.

The uprated suspension includes new control arms, rear sway bar and internal bypass reservoir shocks. This gives the Nissan Titan Warrior Concept serious off-road capability and an elevated ride height, 3 inches higher than the standard Titan XD.

The ‘modern armor’ exterior trim looks awesome. It takes an already good looking truck and shoots it into greatness. It has a stealth look about it that is all business. The new look headlights will be enough to get a serious double take in the rearview when you see one coming. The modified grille and lower sills combine with that huge skidplate to give it an almost Transformer look.

The interior has also been given the design treatment with new colourways, new materials, a new aluminium steering wheel, extra gauges and carbon fibre trim. A temperature-controlled drinks container has also been added to the centre console.

Here’s what Nissan have to say for themselves.
“The TITAN Warrior Concept builds on the recent Project Titan, a crowd-sourced customization of an original-generation Titan that sent two U.S. military veterans representing Wounded Warrior Project® on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure in Alaska. The new concept truck also pays homage to Nissan's heritage of off-road racing and adventuring, which goes back to the days of Baja "Hardbody" competition pickups and Paris-Dakar Rally treks.

"As we launch the all-new 2016 TITAN XD, the TITAN Warrior Concept was conceived to share our team's pride and excitement to be back in the truck market in a big way," added José Muñoz, executive vice president, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and chairman, Nissan North America, Inc. "The team delivered." (Source)
We say they certainly did!
