The Ford F-150 electric pickup more anticipated than any other electric truck

The Ford F-150 electric pickup more anticipated than any other electric truck

According to a recent study, the Ford F-150 electric pickup is more hotly anticipated than any other electric truck on the horizon. That includes the well-publicized Tesla Cybertruck.

Not that Ford needs any more good news about the F-150. It’s already the best-selling truck and has dominated sales for the longest time.

The Ford F-150 electric pickup isn’t even out yet and it’s already topping the charts. Well, one chart anyway.

What is equally interesting in the study quoted above is that two in five future pickup drivers are considering an electric truck over a standard one. That should give Ford even more impetus to deliver the Ford F-150 electric pickup!

It provides the evidence automakers need to develop electric vehicles faster and bring more to market. If the appetite is growing for them, it makes sense for any manufacturer to strike while the iron is hot.

2021 Ford F-150

The 2021 Ford F-150 is an evolution of the winning formula that has dominated truck sales. It’s a great looking vehicle with the practicality to handle daily tasks and the comfort to handle anything else.

It has the added benefit of being available as a pared back utility trick or be fully tricked out with leather, touchscreens and every modern convenience.

It’s a great shape with a refined front end and soft edges that make it much more approachable as a daily driver. It rides high and is long but easy to park and to drive.

Inside, there is an 8” or 12” touchscreen, plenty of cubbies and storage, lots of space and some very high quality upholstery. The leather interior option is particularly strong as it blends a little luxury with wipe clean practicality.

Engine and drivetrain

Under the hood is one of six engines. They include a 3.3-litre V6, 2.7-litre V6 turbo, 5.0-litre V8, 3.5-litre turbo V6, 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6 and the new 3.5-litre turbo hybrid. All deliver enviable performance and efficiency alongside a slick automatic transmission.

There are also two AWD systems available. A mechanical system and an on-demand system. Both offer great handling in uncertain conditions.

Safety and features

The 2021 Ford F-150 can come with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, active lane control, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitors with rear cross-traffic alerts, parking sensors, automatic emergency rear braking and post-collision braking.

Some trims can also get adaptive cruise control, surround-view cameras, rain-sensing wipers, adaptive steering and Active Drive Assist.
