Ram have released a special edition Ram 1500 truck that would be perfect for Canada. Called the Ram 1500 North Edition, the model must have had our region in mind when considering what to include. Could it be the perfect vehicle for the cold north?
The Ram 1500 North Edition is a winter special and looks amazing. Released just in time for the cold weather to really kick in, the truck is already one of our firm favourites. Could this new special edition be the ultimate Canadian car?
Ram 1500 North Edition
The Ram 1500 North Edition is based on the Ram 1500 Big Horn but adds a selection of special additions suitable for cold climates. They include a 1-inch factory lift, an engine block heater, 4×4 transfer case, three-peak mountain snowflake on/off-road Falken LT tires, electronic locking rear differential, heated seats, heated steering wheel and Mopar all-weather floor mats.
The Big Horn is available as a Crew 4x4. Again, ideal for winter with four wheel drive. It usually comes with some nice colour options, body coloured exterior trim, front and rear parking sensors, Uconnect with an 8.4 inch screen, power driver’s seat, heated power mirrors and remote start. All things that lend themselves well to the cold weather.
Under the hood is either the ever-reliable Pentastar 3.6-litre V6 or 5.7-litre HEMI V8 with automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
With snow-rated tires and higher ground clearance, there won’t be many roads that would be inaccessible to this truck. The engine warmer will help on freezing mornings while the driver and passengers remain toasty warm with the remote start option and heated seats.
The Ram 1500 is already one of the most popular vehicles we sell here at Car Nation Canada. The combination of great looks, solid engines, slick transmissions, capable load carrying and towing ability and that superb interior make this the ideal truck for almost any purpose. With competitive pricing and an extension options list, you can build the truck of your dreams for less than you might think.
I hope we get orders for the Ram 1500 North Edition as I want to see it up close. While my desire for the Ranger is still strong, the look of this special edition might just top it.
