Nissan have announced the Nissan Altima Edition One in advance of the release of the next generation 2019 Altima. This special edition is a one off that offers a little more than usual and will hopefully entice new owners into the Altima’s fold.
The Nissan Altima Edition One is a special version of the Altima Platinum VC-Turbo designed to offer more incentive to invest in Nissan’s sixth generation sedan. As if people were going to need more reasons to check out one of the most interesting sedan launches of this year!
The Nissan Altima Edition One uses the VC-Turbo and new adds faux leather seats, Bose sound system, moonroof, ProPilot driving assist technology, new alloy wheels, unique trunk spoiler, exterior ground lighting, illuminated kick plates and unique badging and trim.
The VC-Turbo motor is a neat idea that switches between high compression for fuel efficiency and low compression for when you put your foot down. When used in the Infiniti QX50, the company says it delivers up to 27% better fuel economy with no loss of performance.
Nissan are also throwing in three years of Edition One Nissan Concierge subscription too. This entitles the owner to ask the concierge to plan dinners, special events, get tickets and all sorts of neat stuff.
"The new Altima Edition One is designed for customers who want the best-of-the-best and value exclusivity," stated Nissan's Billy Hayes, division vice president in a press release.
"They are often early adopters, so this reservation program is ideal for them. Plus, the super-premium gifts should appeal to their love of the latest technologies—in their cars and their homes."
Pre-orders for the Nissan Altima Edition One and 2019 Nissan Altima begin June 15.
2019 Nissan Altima
The 2019 Nissan Altima was shown at New York earlier this year and looks to build on the sedan’s popularity while also bolstering sales leaking to other competitors. The Altima has always been a decent car that offered faithful service. Now it is being rewarded with some of the Maxima’s sporty looks too.
The redesign is superb. It looks much more like the Maxima while remaining its own creature. It is sleek, composed and is going to look great on the road. Inside has the same cabin quality and space you would expect along with some very modern touches as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay make a welcome arrival in the 2019 Nissan Altima.
The other big news is the end of the V6. Instead we get the variable compression four cylinder, the VC-Turbo. It has been rated at 248 ho and 273 lb-ft of torque and will use front or all-wheel drive depending on the model you buy.
The 2019 Nissan Altima begins production soon and with order books opening within a couple weeks, we will soon know all there is to know about it.
