New cars to look forward to in 2018 continued

640 × 432
Continuing on from yesterday, we highlight some of the new model releases we are expecting this year. Yesterday we covered the 2019 Ford Focus, 2018 Jeep Wrangler, 2019 Jeep Cherokee, 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 and 2019 Ford Ranger. Today we’ll cover a few more models that we look forward to.

2019 Ram 1500
The 2019 Ram 1500 is a truck I covered late last year as more teaser images arrived showing us parts of the exterior and a glimpse of the interior. There is a lot riding on this truck. It needs to continue to compete on par with the Ford F-150 on every level while offering enough new kit to attract buyers. From what we have seen so far, it should achieve both those goals with ease.

The 2019 Ram 1500 is due at an auto show soon and we cannot wait!

2019 Lincoln MKX
The new 2019 Lincoln MKX has a lot of work to do to gain the kind of market share it deserves. A solid midsize SUV with a huge list of premium features, great driving characteristics and reliable engines, there is no real reason not to like it. While we haven’t seen the new look in full, I expect it looks as good in person as it does in images.

The release is unknown, as is the exact time and place of the reveal.

2019 Nissan Altima
We should see the redesigned 2019 Nissan Altima at some point this year too. The design is supposed to bring it closer to the sporty yet practical Maxima while retaining a piece of its own character. The Altima is an unsung hero in the Nissan lineup, with few of the headlines or accolades of other models. Yet is content to go about its business, serving millions of families and businesses across North America.

We don’t know much about the 2019 Nissan Altima aside from the fact it is coming.

2018 Ford EcoSport
We don’t yet know much about the 2018 Ford EcoSport aside from the fact it is coming. The subcompact SUV has been a surprise hit across Europe and Ford is hoping a revised version will do the same here. The Euro-spec has a 1.0-litre three cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers impressive gas mileage but we don’t know if that will be coming to Canada.

The EcoSport is another model that doesn’t get the headlines it deserves but has huge popularity with younger buyers.

There are lots of other model releases this year for other manufacturers but for those that Car Nation Canada works with, it is likely to be a very busy year!
