If you like the look of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid but found the initial cost off-putting, there is some good news on the way. FCA have announced two more affordable versions of this green minivan, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Touring and Premium. Both come in cheaper than the current version.
Alongside the rebate of around $12,389 in Ontario, this more environmentally conscious minivans is more affordable than ever. While having a lower sticker price, they still qualify for full rebates from the government.
2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Touring
The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Touring will have the same engine, drivetrain and mechanicals but fewer features. It will still have alloy wheels, LED lighting, power doors, adjustable seat, climate control, 7 inch display and Uconnect though. It will feature a wide range of safety features too.
2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Premium
The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Premium has all that plus roof rack, remote engine start, rear park assist, Active Braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, heated seats and leather interior. It too will have the same standard safety tech.
Both new models should be with us sometime in the fall.
2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid
The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, voted best minivan, has a lot to live up to. Not only does it have to haul the family around in safety and comfort, it also has to provide decent levels of power and gas efficiency too.
The hybrid uses the same Pentastar V6 but with a few extras. The same 3.6-litre engine is present but has been tweaked for greater efficiency and combined with a pair of electric motors. This system replaces the standard nine speed transmission and, along with a 16kWh battery pack, can provide up to 33 miles of electric only range. The Hybrid isn’t designed to run on electric only though so achieves somewhere in the region of 84mpge.
The hybrid powertrain is ideal for a family van where there are lots of stop, starts and sitting at idle. There is also enough internal space to house the hybrid mechanicals without too many compromises. In the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, only the under seat bins are lost to the battery pack.
Those batteries are charged with the onboard charger that runs 6.6 kilowatts. A full charge takes 2 hours using a 240 volt input or 14 hours using a standard 120 volt feed.
Along with seven seats, enviable amounts of space, great levels of finishing, top quality materials and a fantastic look, anyone in the market for a minivan has to check out the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid.
