Mazda3 awarded Top Safety Pick

Mazda3 awarded Top Safety Pick

640 × 480
As well as being a cool little car, the Mazda3 is now regarded as a safe little car, having been awarded Top Safety Pick by the US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The diminutive Mazda really is performing well!

The Mazda3 sedan and hatchback were both awarded Top Safety Pick and only missed out on Top Safety Pick Plus because the headlights fell just short of the qualification. The lights are good enough for safe road use but do not quite hit the higher mark that the Top Safety Pick Plus award requires. It’s a shame but not a showstopper.

Now there is even more reason to consider a Mazda3!

2019 Mazda3
The 2019 Mazda3 experienced quite the redesign and is resonating well with buyers in the market looking for a smart new car. The new model exhibits Mazda’s typical attention to detail, excellent design, great driving dynamics and an excellent engine. There is an AWD option too which is great news for us.

The design is superb. I may be biased but I think the hatch is the better of the two. It’s like a fastback without compromises in the rear. It’s a back-heavy design with a long sloping hood, sharply raked windshield, rolling roof and rounded rear. The profile looks fast even when sitting still and the design still manages to squeeze in four doors.

Inside the 2019 Mazda3, there is more room than you might think. An attractive dashboard keeps everything under control while the clear, crisp screen in the centre stack is fast ands responsive. Rear seat passengers should be fine with all but the tallest adults having enough room to relax.

Under that long hood is Mazda’s very accomplished 2.5-litre four cylinder that produces 186 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. It uses an automatic transmission to send power to the front or all wheels.

The Mazda3’s i-Activ AWD system is top class. Monitoring everything and helping you maintain steady progress. When not in use, the engine powers the front wheels only to help with gas mileage. As soon as the system detects a loss of grip, it engages the rear more to help maintain stability. It’s a very neat system that helps driving dynamics and safety.

With features such as head-up display, a 12 speaker Bose audio system, 18 inch alloy wheels and adaptive LED headlights as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electronic parking brake, LED lighting and now a Top Safety Pick rating, the 2019 Mazda3 has to be one of the best small cars on the road.
