Lincoln Corsair to be with us by 2020

640 × 480
We have heard rumours for quite some time that the current Lincoln MKC will be getting the real name treatment at some point. Initially, rumours put the release of the littlest Lincoln at the mid-2020s, but it seems that it might be a little earlier than that. We may have a Lincoln Corsair to drive by 2020.

Further rumours said a new Corsair model would be with us by 2021/22, but again, nothing was substantiated. Now, a leak from somewhere reported on Ford Authority says the Lincoln Corsair could be with us in less than two years. The site said their sources noted that the Corsair was being fast tracked to help replace models Ford was phasing out.

Those same sources say the new Lincoln Corsair will use a lot of inspiration from the Lincoln Aviator concept while also using elements we know from the MKC. The Corsair nameplate is a familiar one and works well as a name for a vehicle. Originally used to describe pirates of the 17th century, the Corsair is a name Ford obviously keeps around for use whenever inspiration strikes.

As far as we know, the Lincoln Corsair will continue the MKCs use of the Ford Escape platform and will continue the close links between the two vehicles. Aside from that, we are still trying to find out more.

2019 Lincoln MKC
The MKC has just had a redesign that transformed its look from the old Lincoln into the new design philosophy. New for 2019, this iteration of the MKC has to be the best looking yet. A new front end, new lighting and grille has transformed the look of this SUV for the better.

The MKC is the little brother of the Lincoln SUV family but you would never think it given the interior space and comforts on offer. The cabin is stuffed with technology and features yet has enough space for the whole family to travel in comfort. The one thing you particularly note about Lincolns is the quiet. Even when putting your foot down, you hear very little thanks to effective sound insulation. It makes for very relaxed driving.

There are two engine options available for the 2019 Lincoln MKC. The first is a turbocharged 2.0-litre four that produces 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque and the second is a turbocharged 2.3-litre four that produces 285 hp and 305 lb-ft of torque. Both use a six speed transmission.

The 2019 Lincoln MKC is available in base, Select, Reserve and Black Label trims. All are well-specified with alloy wheels, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a WiFi hotspot, premium audio and 8 inch touchscreen are standard while higher trims deliver every possible feature you could need.

The 2019 Lincoln MKC can be configured to your exact specifications. Visit Northway Ford Lincoln, 388 King George Road Brantford ON N3S 3N2 to build yours.
