Lincoln Continental to get heads up display

Lincoln Continental to get heads up display

640 × 480
As if there weren’t enough reasons to consider a Lincoln Continental for your next luxury sedan, the introduction of a heads up display will surely be enough. The new system will be visible during the day or at night and is touted as the biggest and brightest available right now.

The new heads up display uses the same technology as your nearest movie theatre, DLP technology. Digital Light Projection was invented by Texas Instruments and uses a special DLP chip that can project a display onto almost any surface using tiny mirrors. This makes it ideal for use in cars.

The system coming to the Lincoln Continental will be programmable too. So each driver can configure it to display the information they want in a way you want. Steering wheel controls enables adjustment on the fly, adjust brightness or even turn it off altogether should you wish to.

It will be possible to program the heads up display to show speed, local speed limits, temperature, the lane-keeping system, adaptive cruise control, fuel level, phone messages, incoming call alerts and lots of other information should you choose to.

2017 Lincoln Continental
The 2017 Lincoln Continental is designed to be a local competitor to the German luxury sedans. Designed to be cheaper, more fully featured as standard and much better looking, it is certainly a car to watch.

The 2017 Lincoln Continental is a large luxury sedan that compares well against a BMW 5 or 7-series or Mercedes-Benz E or S class. It doesn’t try to beat the Germans, but compete well against them. From initial impressions, it seems to do that just fine. The car looks great, the new engines and suspension setup should offer a smooth and very composed ride.

There are four trim levels, Premier, Select, Reserve and Black Label. The Premier starts off with the 3.7-litre V6 engine and includes paddle shifters, alloy wheels, adaptive lighting, LED running lights, power accessories, rearview camera, active grille shutters, climate control, touchscreen and a whole host of other features. As you would expect, the Select, Reserve and Black Label all add lots and lots of features to the already impressive list including the famous concierge service for Black Label owners.

The 2017 Lincoln Continental is a great looking luxury sedan that catapults the brand far ahead of where it used to be. It is now a modern, comfortable car that delivers a genuine luxury experience to the driver and passengers.
