Kia Telluride nominated as Best Car To Buy

Auto website The Car Connection has nominated the 2020 Kia Telluride as a finalist in its Best Car To Buy 2020 category. The Kia SUV has already won fans thanks to its good looks, high level of luxury and for being safe, perhaps winning best car could cement its place in our minds.

The Car Connection, Motor Authority and Green Car Reports work together in creating these awards. The winner will be announced on January 2 2020.

They said, ‘With the Telluride, Kia has its best family car ever. Its best highway car ever. Its best interior ever. Cleverly, it’s all wrapped in a three-row package that’s aimed right at slaking our SUV thirst—without acting too thirsty.’

We agree!

2020 Kia Telluride

The 2020 Kia Telluride entered the SUV market to take on the big guns. Not by offering more space or more luxury but by daring to be different. It can seat up to eight in three rows in very luxury surroundings depending on the trim you choose. It can also carry cargo thanks to folding rear seats.

The design is very competent. Hiding its bulk within a smooth exterior with minimal detailing and a very sleek profile. The front is low and features the tiger nose and a vertical light arrangement at the front corners. A long roof with gentle slope offers aero pretensions while not compromising passenger space in the rear.

It already has notoriety for those looks but it is also gaining fans due to the luxury and value. Even basic Tellurides have an 8 inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Kia UVO Link. There is also remote start, remote locking, navigation and electric accessories. Spec up and you could have a heads-up display, Nappa leather interior, heated and ventilated seats and a whole lot more.

Under the hood of the 2020 Kia Telluride is a 3.8-litre V6 that generates 291 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. It uses an eight speed automatic transmission to drive the rear wheels with AWD as an option.

This being Kia, safety tech is generous. You get forward automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning and parking sensors as standard and can spec up to blind-spot monitoring, forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane centering, lane-departure warning and that heads-up display. While it has yet to be crash tested, you just know it’s going to perform well!

Regardless of whether it wins the Best Car of 2020 award, we know the 2020 Kia Telluride is a winner. Learn all about it at Georgetown Kia, 199 and 314 Guelph Street, Georgetown, Ontario.
