Kia Canada announces pricing for 2020 Kia Telluride

640 × 480
We have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the 2020 Kia Telluride. Kia has hinted at it for ages and showed it at auto shows and now it will soon be with us. In the meantime we have a good idea of what this premium SUV is going to cost as Kia Canada have released pricing for it this week.

The 2020 Kia Telluride is Kia’s largest SUV to date and will take over from the Sorento as their roomy people mover. It also piles on the luxury as well as carry up to eight passengers in comfort. It’s big, robust and has an air of Range Rover or the Volvo XC90 about it but fortunately it isn’t priced like one.

The 2020 Kia Telluride EX will be priced from $44,995, the SX from $49,995 and the SX Limited from $53,995. There may be slight regional variations or incentives to come but that’s roughly where it sits.

In return for that investment you get a solid SUV with a lot of character. It’s squarer than many Kia designs but looks awesome. The big front end isn’t imposing at all despite its size and the big hood provides plenty of space for the V6 engine that will power all models.

A raked windshield, relatively flat roof, squared-off rear end and simple panels with distinct wheel arches keep things nice and simple. I like the design. I think it’s mature and elegant and hides the size of this thing very well indeed.

Inside, the comfy seats can be heated and ventilated, a large touchscreen dominates the centre stack and there is enough leather and quality interior trim to outfit several smaller cars. The cabin is light, airy and very well outfitted. It seems a very nice place to be.

Under that large hood is a 3.8-litre V6 engine that produces 291 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. The same engine will feature in all models. It will use an eight speed automatic transmission and either FWD or AWD to keep you stable on the road in all conditions and provide a smooth driving experience whatever driving mode you’re in.

With lots of standard technology and Kia’s habitual generosity with its features, even the EX model is fully featured and doesn’t leave you wanting. It comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian protection and forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, blind spot monitoring with collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic alert with collision avoidance, lane keep assist and lane following assist either as standard or as options.

You can also swap the rear seats for captain’s chairs in both rear rows should you wish.

The 2020 Kia Telluride looks to be an awesome SUV that delivers the comfort and quality we look for in our premium vehicles. I can’t wait to get a drive in one!
