FordPass Park reserves your parking spot in 160 cities

FordPass Park is a useful phone app that can reserve and even pay for your parking in advance of your arrival. So if you travel often and usually find yourself driving around a new city trying to find a spot, this app could be for you. You don’t even have to be a Ford owner to use it.

FordPass itself is a gateway app that has a range of bolt-ons that Ford owners will find useful. They include ‘Know your vehicle’ an information app telling you about your car and even mileage and fuel level if it has SYNC. Owners of the 2017 Ford Escape or 2017 Ford Fusion you can even unlock and remote start their vehicle from the app too.

There is also a parking app, FordPass Park, which is what we are talking about here. The app fulfils a need most travelling workers and families needed. A way to find out where to park, how much it costs and how to find it. The app uses a map screen that is reminiscent of Google Maps and shows you where you are right now (if you have your phone GPS enabled) and where there is parking. There is also a helpful price box next to each one telling you how much a day’s parking costs.

The app has been out for a while but coverage has been limited, especially in Canada. While there are no specifics in the press release as to which cities are covered, the net has been widened to 160 of them. Unfortunately, all of them are in the U.S. However, more cities are promised very soon. Hopefully Ford won’t forget us up north.

Here’s a quick explainer video.

2017 Ford Escape
The 2017 Ford Escape is a great little crossover in a market full of great little crossovers. Despite the competition, it manages to stand out from the crowd. Great design, Ford familiarity, spacious interiors and lots of technology all help. As does good driving manners and decent performance.

The design is very Ford, with the family grille up front, angled headlights, raked windshield and rounded look across all panels. Inside, the cabin is spacious, well built and offers a lot of technology for the money. Seating and comfort are first rate while practicality abounds.

You can have a 2.5-litre four cylinder, a 1.5-litre turbo four or a 2.0-litre turbo four cylinder engine. All use a six speed automatic transmission to send power to the front or all wheels.

The 2017 Ford Escape is a solid contender for family favourite. It is well made, practical and can be plenty of fun too. Visit Northway Ford Lincoln, 388 King George Road Brantford ON N3S 3N2 and see it for yourself!
