Ford offers free driver training for Shelby GT350 owners

640 × 480
Ford have announced they will offer free driver training for new owners of the 2015 and 2016 Shelby Mustang GT350 and GT350R. It’s a smart move, one that will not only teach drivers how to get the most out of their new car but also how to control all that power.

So, buy a new GT350 or GT350R and be enrolled in a free Track Attack program down in Utah. The program is run at the Utah Motorsports Campus in Tooele, Utah by the Ford Racing High Performance Driving School. Already available to Boss Mustang owners and Focus ST and RS owners, the course is now available to GT owners too.

The one day Track Attack program begins with a lecture and ends up with time on the track with a professional instructor. The aim is to teach new GT drivers how to handle the power, how to control the car and how to manage its awesome capability safely. There is an optional second day of training which the owner can pay for as well as other optional training.

You of course don’t use your own car. Mustang GT350s are available at the track, so while there is nothing stopping you taking a road trip south to Utah in your new GT350, you will be pleased to know you won’t be throwing your new pride and joy around a racetrack!

Here are the details of the school and the offer.

Ford Shelby GT350
The standard Ford Mustang is already an awesome car. Add the Shelby experience to it and you have something truly special.

The GT350 gets a new 5.2-litre V8 engine that delivers 526 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque. It uses a flat-plane crankshaft, single intake, dual exhausts and normal aspiration. Yep, no turbo. So no lag, just pure power all throughout the rev range. Did we mention it doesn’t have a redline? It’s the engine that keeps on giving.

The inspiration for the flat-plane crankshaft was ‘borrowed’ from Ferrari and apparently when Ford tested it they liked what they saw, so continued developing it and put it in the GT350.

As well as an awesome engine, the Ford Shelby GT350 has brakes to match, agile, yet firm suspension and handling that allows you to make best use of all that power. While designed for the track, it behaves well on the road too. It really is the muscle car for the 21st century!

Visit Northway Ford Lincoln, 388 King George Road Brantford ON N3S 3N2 and talk to us about ordering your GT350!
