The weekend saw annual Canada Day celebrations across the country and the Chrysler Pacifica served as the ‘official’ car of the event. Celebrated over three days from June 29 to July 3 in Ottawa, the even was celebrating 150 years of Canada.
Canada 150 as the event was called was held around Parliament Hill, the Canadian Museum of History and Major’s Hill Park in the city. As the official sponsor, FCA were able to supply the official vehicle for the event. Sure it’s pure marketing and a rather unsubtle way to commercialize our national celebrations but it is good to see the Canadian-manufactured Pacifica getting some attention.
The 26 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles served as shuttles, ferrying people around the celebrations and ensuring the right people were in the right place at the right time.
2017 Chrysler Pacifica
The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica has done incredibly well since its launch. It had a fair sized pair of shoes to fill and I think it has done that very well indeed. Not only does it breathe new life into a segment that really needed it, it has brought a raft of new options to families who want to transport the family without feeling like they are driving a minibus.
The design of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is very slick. It takes the fight directly to the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna and leaves them in its dust. Both the inside and out offer a modern appeal that will resonate with families who want to haul their brood around without feeling like a bus driver.
The cabin is comfortable, well put together and feels almost luxurious. Surfaces are wipe clean, the leather is supple and soft, there are cubbies everywhere and Stow ‘n Go has still yet to be equalled.
The very capable 3.5-litre Pentastar V6 engine and nine speed automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels and delivers a smooth driving experience. Whether you’re doing the school run or are in the middle of a road trip, the Pacifica has it where it counts.
There are five trim levels: LX, Touring, Touring-L, Touring-L Plus and Limited. Each comes well equipped as standard but then adds extras depending on which you select. All come with alloy wheels, air conditioning, push button start, Stow ‘n Go, touchscreen, reversing camera and Uconnect. Options include climate control, power liftgate, LED lighting, panoramic sunroof, leather interior and a whole range of goodies.
As this last weekend proved, the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is an excellent vehicle for transporting people in comfort and safety. Check it out at Unique Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, 915 Walkers Line, Burlington, ON L7N 3V8.
