Changes coming for Kia and the Cadenza

Changes coming for Kia and the Cadenza

If one automaker could ever be referred to as completely transformed, it’s Kia. From basic econoboxes in the beginning to stylish and very driveable cars now, Kia has had something of a journey.

That journey isn’t over yet as the company announces a new logo and a new Kia Cadenza.

The new logo you can see from the image. It’s stylized but is still just about legible. It’s definitely a step up from the current logo but I think the jury is out on its replacement.

The new Cadenza is also being renamed to the K8 at some point. This reflects the evolving naming convention Kia has slowly been revealing over the past year.

2020 Kia Cadenza

The 2020 Kia Cadenza is a great looking sedan that delivers a great drive for not a lot of money.

This is an all new model with a new grille, new headlights, new taillights and a refreshed look inside and out. The original model looked great but this is a newer, sleeker design that elevates the car and makes the sedan shape more relevant than it was before.

Inside, the improvements continue with a new 12.3 inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The cabin is the same comfortable, attractive place it was before. Soft yet supportive seating, solid controls, superb finishing and materials quality and a feeling of composed comfort throughout.

With room for five adults and a huge trunk, this is a genuine family car designed to deliver comfort and convenience.

Under the skin

Under the skin of the 2020 Kia Cadenza is a very well-balanced chassis and tuned suspension designed to deliver a comfortable ride over any terrain. It provides excellent feedback through the wheel and has lively steering, enough to make driving it a genuine pleasure.

Under the hood is a 3.3-litre V6 engine that products 290 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque. It uses an 8 speed automatic transmission to send power to the front wheels. The combination provides a smooth ride with steady acceleration and smooth shifting. It works very well!

The 2020 Kia Cadenza brings new safety tech with it too. It includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, LED headlights, automatic high beam headlights, active lane control and safe exit alerts as standard. Other safety tech will be optional.

Whether you call it the K8 or the Kia Cadenza, this is a superb car designed to deliver genuine comfort. It’s a viable alternative to German sedans that won’t break the bank. Visit Grimsby Kia, 435 South Service Road Grimsby, ON L3M 4E8 to see it up close.
