2023 Kia Soul revealed

2023 Kia Soul revealed

The Kia Soul is a cute little car. It is also one of Kia’s best sellers in Europe and other regions. You’ll see a lot of them in Canada too as they are great little cars!

Which is why we’re happy to see the new 2023 Kia Soul being revealed.

2023 Kia Soul

The 2023 Kia Soul is a subcompact that punches way above its weight in terms of technology and comfort.

This new model will build on that.

“The Soul defined a whole new segment of small cars when it first entered the Kia lineup and it continues into the 2023 model year with as much fun, practicality and style as ever,” said Steve Center, COO & EVP, Kia America, in a statement.

“The basic form remains, which is what more than 75,000 happy Soul owners loved so much about the funky runabout last year, representing a nearly 5 percent increase over sales in 2020. The new 2023 Soul is set to continue that trend with its refreshed design inside and out, advanced technology and feature-packed trims.”

Soul design

The design of the 2023 Kia Soul remains familiar, yet modern. A new grille keeps the Soul inline with other Kia family cars, while also looking modern and perfectly at home.

There’s also new LED running lights and a new fog light arrangement too.

The rear has also had a makeover with a new light cluster and hatch arrangement. It looks more rear-leaning but is a much cleaner design than the previous model.

The 2023 Kia Soul brings two new colours, two new wheels and interior trim.

There are also two fewer trims as the Turbo and X-Line have both been dropped. The LX, S, EX, GT-Line, GT-Line Tech trims remain though.

Under the skin

The 2023 Kia Soul still keeps to the simple interior mantra, but improves the build quality and materials, as they seem to do every year.

The Soul also has a 10.25” touchscreen on all but the LX, which is a great touch.

You can also get a Harmon Kardon audio system with LED speakers, blind spot collision avoidance and rear cross-collision avoidance.

You can also opt for forward collision avoidance assist, lane keeping assist + lane follow assist, driver attention warning, lane departure warning, high beam assist and rear occupant alert.

Otherwise, the new Soul looks to be as spacious and as comfortable as the existing one.

That means surprisingly spacious given it’s a subcompact.

Under the hood is a single engine, a 2.0-litre four cylinder that produces 147 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque. It sends the power to the front wheels via a CVT transmission.

The exact release date and pricing has yet to be announced but we’ll keep you in the loop and update as soon as we know.

Check out the current Kia Soul at Georgetown Kia, 199 and 314 Guelph Street, Georgetown, Ontario.
