2022 Lincoln Navigator Spied In The Wild

2022 Lincoln Navigator Spied In The Wild

There has been no shortage of spy shots of the 2022 Lincoln Navigator recently but this latest one has less camouflage than usual. This gives us the best view yet of what to expect from the new Lincoln SUV.

Images, caught by a photographer at Motor1.com show more of the new Navigator than ever before.

2022 Lincoln Navigator

It looks like a minor redesign up front with new smaller lighters and what could be a new grille and lower fascia. There is still camouflage around some important areas but we do see more of the profile than before.

Inside, more spy shots show bigger changes to the dashboard. A large standup touchscreen sits proud. It looks similar to the current large screen options but has slight differences in shape so could be completely different or just have a new fascia.

The rest of the design looks similar to what we have now. A squared-off SUV with acres of internal space, simple but elegant panel designs, a large wheelbase, short overhangs and the quality of interior other automakers can only marvel at.

There is no date for the 2022 Lincoln Navigator but we’re expecting a reveal in the coming months.

2021 Lincoln Navigator

The 2021 Lincoln Navigator has a more rounded design from what we can see of its successor, with larger lights up front. It’s a very elegant design with a real presence. Content to sit there and look good rather than shout about it.

This is a large SUV with seating for up to 8 and plenty of space for everyone. It has an opulent interior with leather everywhere, solid switchgear, some lovely design touches and a commanding driving position.

Under that huge hood is a 3.5-litre twin turbocharged V6 engine that delivers 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. That’s plenty enough to haul this big SUV around with ease and not struggle.

It uses Ford’s 10 speed automatic transmission to send power to the rear or all wheels.

Depending on the trim you buy, you get keyless start, power tailgate, leather interior, 20 inch wheels, second row captain’s chairs, 10.0 inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, surround view camera system, panoramic sunroof, illuminated Lincoln badge and a concierge service for Black Label models.

The US NHTSA gave the 2021 Lincoln Navigator a five star safety rating. It comes with adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitors, active lane control and automatic emergency braking as standard.

You can add a surround-view camera system, head-up display, active parking assist, and automatic high-beam headlights as options.

The 2022 Lincoln Navigator looks to be an evolution of the current model and we like what we see. We’ll have much more of an idea once we get a proper look at some point in the summer.

In the meantime, the 2021 Lincoln Navigator is available right now at Northway Ford Lincoln, 388 King George Road Brantford ON N3S 3N2.
