Check Out the 2022 Kia EV6 Super Bowl Commercial!

Kia once again secured a spot at the Super Bowl to promote the company to millions of North American fans. The brand showcased its new commercial starring a robot dog and the EV6 at Super Bowl LVI last week on 13 February 2022.

It’s just a teaser ad, but the quality has gone sky high this time round.

The soundtrack is straight from the eighties with Bonnie Tyler’s Total Eclipse of the Heart as the little dog sees something interesting off screen.

Further teasers on Twitter showed us the dog had just spotted the Kia EV6.

The ad is more poignant as Kia has partnered with the Petfinder Foundation, a charity that helps abandoned animals find new homes.

The 2022 Kia EV6 Super Bowl commercial was a very smart advert for the brand and seemed to have gone down very well.

2022 Kia EV6

The 2022 Kia EV6 is a brand new electric car from the Korean automaker. Reviews so far have been overwhelmingly positive and it’s off to a great start.

The design is as sleek as it gets. The car is long and low, despite being a crossover. It has a nice curved hood and light setup, flared fenders, rounded edges and a long, low roof.

The upsweep detail from the lower sill up to the rear lights is a smart addition too.

Inside, the EV6 uses the extra space it doesn’t need for engines and gas tanks well.

The cabin is spacious and well laid out. The driving position is comfortable and visibility is decent all around, despite the low roof.

Despite the low roof, interior space hasn’t really been compromised. Adults can sit in the back comfortably, although the taller among you may brush the roof with your head.

Otherwise, interior space is excellent.

As is the build quality.

Materials are top class and finishing has gone up a notch. There are no rattles or loose fittings, everything fits snugly, doors close with a reassuring thunk and all the switches seem solid.

Under the hood

Under the hood of the 2022 Kia EV6 is a responsive electric motor or motors depending on the configuration.

Standard is a motor at the rear axle but you can have motors on each if you like. Single motors deliver 225 hp and doubles deliver 320 hp.

Both use a 58 or 77.4 kWh battery pack to deliver up to 310 miles of range with single motor or 274 with double.

Charging will go from 10-80% in 18 minutes with a 350 kW fast charger or in around 7 hours with a 240v charger. Those figures have yet to be confirmed though.

Safety tech

The car has yet to be safety tested but includes 7 airbags, low-speed automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, active lane control, high-beam assist, a blind-spot warning system and full-speed adaptive cruise control.

You can add driver-attention system, rear-view camera system, rear cross-traffic functionality, and parking sensors, with blind-spot and surround-view monitoring plus remote parking and machine learning for the cruise control should you wish to.
