Introducing the 2022 Ford Mustang Stealth Edition

Introducing the 2022 Ford Mustang Stealth Edition

There has been a lot of Ford news recently, not least the news of this new 2022 Ford Mustang Stealth Edition. As if the Mustang needed any more help to attract buyers, this new special edition makes it even more alluring.

The 2022 Ford Mustang Stealth Edition is available on the EcoBoost Premium trim and gives us black trim, black wheels, black badging, black mirrors, rear wing, LED light covers at the back and some black trim inside.

It’s only available with certain colours in that single trim though. You’ll have to buy Carbonized Gray, Shadow Black, Atlas Blue or Dark Matter colours to benefit from the Stealth Edition.

But as those colours are cool anyway, that’s not exactly a hardship!

2021 Ford Mustang

The current 2021 Ford Mustang is simply sensational. Few coupes or convertibles come close without having to spend six figures.

The design is superb, with a modern twist on huge heritage that delivers great looks and an awesome driving experience.

That curved hood means business, as do those shark-like headlights and low front splitter. There is panel detailing everywhere but it works to deliver what is a complex, attractive profile.

Inside, there is enough room for four, admittedly two smaller passengers in back. Up front, the seats are supportive and comfortable. The dashboard is clear and configurable and the touchscreen is very easy to use.

Under the hood

The 2021 Ford Mustang has a few engine options. The base 2.3-litre turbocharge engine delivers 310 hp while a tweaked version of the same engine gives 330 hp.

Then there’s the 5.0-litre V8 in the GT that delivers 460 hp, the same engine in the Mach 1 that gives 480 hp and the supercharged version in the GT500 that delivers 760 hp.

All Mustangs are rear wheel drive and use a version of Ford’s 10 speed automatic transmission or 6 speed manual.

All that power is kept always under control with composed suspension, capable brakes and exceptional balance. It may not look it from the outside, but a lot of work has been done to make this a very capable but controllable car.

Safety hasn’t been ignored either.

The 2021 Ford Mustang brings standard automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, active lane control, and automatic high-beam headlights.

You can have surround-view camera system and parking sensors as options too.

Given how much power you might have on tap, it’s good to see Ford improving the safety offering for the Mustang. That gives the pony car a five-star safety rating from the NHTSA in the U.S., which is nice to have.

While all models of Mustang are worthy of your money, we would spend some quality time with the car configurator to make sure you get the right one for you. There are a lot of options and some models are less generous than others.

That said, there are few cars on the market that give a similar experience without having to spend silly money, so this car definitely gets our vote!
