2022 Ford Maverick Owners Manual
2022 Ford Maverick Owners Manual
Posted on August 11, 2021
The 2022 Ford Maverick is still a couple of months off but we already know all there seems to be to know about it. That’s especially true now the owner’s manual has leaked online.
An enterprising Ford fan apparently added his pre-ordered truck’s VIN into the Ford Pass app and was provided with the full owner’s manual plus the quick reference guide. Which he promptly uploaded for the world to see.
The manual is 533 pages long and includes everything you ever wanted to know about the Maverick. It has a ton of stats, recommendations for fluids and servicing, some infographics to help you understand how things work and lots and lots of pages outlining servicing, oil changes and all that good stuff.
If you’re one of the 80,000 who have pre-ordered a 2022 Ford Maverick, it makes for an interesting read.
It will certainly save you time sitting on the driveway learning how SYNC works!
2022 Ford Maverick
The 2022 Ford Maverick is a new truck with an old name and is very hotly anticipated. Designed to be smaller than the Ranger and F-150, this is a small truck with a big personality.
It uses the same body on frame construction as the Ranger but has apparently been designed to be more comfortable when empty and still tow a decent amount.
The design is soft and rounded, with subtle front end reminiscent of the F-150 but definitely different from it. The lights and central bar across the grille are a case in point.
The rest of the design uses simple panels, rounded edges, body coloured trim and nice wheels to create a modern, accessible look.
Inside, the Maverick isn’t as luxurious as an F-150 can be but isn’t barebones either. Materials are decent quality with robust materials, solid construction and comfortable seating.
The cabin is spacious and the crew cab configuration should work for most situations.
Engine and drivetrain
The 2022 Ford Maverick will use a 2.5-litre combined with electric motor to deliver around 191 hp and 155 lb-ft of torque or a 2.0-litre turbo four cylinder that delivers 250 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque.
The hybrid will use a CVT transmission while the standard engine will use an 8 speed automatic. Both will be FWD or AWD depending on the configuration.
The standard engine can tow up to 1814kg with the optional towing package and carry up to 680kg. That’s pretty good given the size of the truck. The hybrid can carry the same but only tow 900kg.
From what we have seen so far, the 2022 Ford Maverick looks to be the complete package. Smaller than the Ranger but almost as capable, with the benefits of a truck, without the size or compromises that driving a truck come with.
We think it’s going to be huge!
