2022 Chrysler 300 Returns with Limited Options

2022 Chrysler 300 Returns with Limited Options

The Chrysler 300 was thought to be slated for retirement at the end of this year but it seems it gets another year of life. Stellantis have said 2022 Chrysler 300 will be released.

Rumours are that the Chrysler 300 will continue in its current form with fewer options but will still continue. That’s great news if you’re a fan of this big sedan.

According to those same rumours, some colours and options will soon disappear.

The Amethyst and Canyon Sunset colours won’t be around for the 2022 Chrysler 300. Neither will the Radar Red or Black Smoke interior options, the Driver Convenience Group package or the Chrome Appearance Package.

If you want any of those things, you’re going to need to move fast as their time is more limited than that of the 2021 300!

2021 Chrysler 300

The 2021 Chrysler 300 is one of the few sedans left in production. In a world that’s merging into crossovers and SUVs, this is a standout car for more reasons than one.

The 300 has been around forever, 16 years in fact. It has always been an imposing car but recent updates have softened that squared off mob car into a friendly, approachable family sedan that actually performs well.

Sure it’s a legacy car but it’s big, well built and comfortable. Three things we want from our vehicles.

The design is softer than ever, with rounded edges, a less imposing front end, simple panel detailing and a friendlier feel.

Inside, the car is large, can fit the whole family with ease and can be quite luxurious depending on how you spec it.

Under the hood

There are two engine options with the 2021 Chrysler 300. There’s the ever-present Chrysler V6 that produces 292 hp or 300 hp in 300S and the 5.7-litre V8 that produces 363 hp and 394 lb-ft of torque.

Both use an 8 speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.

Despite the vehicle’s size and weight, both engines have plenty enough power for most needs. Both have a nice soundtrack too, with that V8 burble being a particular highlight.

The 2021 Chrysler 300 is available in Touring, Touring L and S trims. All but the Touring have a leather interior and are comfortable to drive and be driven in.

The Touring L is the most comfortable while the S is the most interesting to drive. All three models will have no trouble putting a smile on your face.

It’s good the Chrysler 300 is sticking around for another year. Otherwise, domestic sedans will almost be a thing of the past. That’s not a good thing, as soon vehicles will all look the same size and shape.

For now, at least, sedan lovers are still being catered for.
