2021 Mazda3 2.5 Turbo revealed

2021 Mazda3 2.5 Turbo revealed

The 2021 Mazda3 2.5 Turbo has been revealed and it looks good. The already superb-looking compact from Mazda has been given a new engine and some new tweaks under the skin but still looks the same car that won World Car Design of the Year.

That’s good news for everyone.

The 2021 Mazda3 2.5 Turbo takes the already great looking Mazda3 and adds a turbocharged engine and all-wheel drive. Both are good news for Canadian buyers. The turbo engine gives the car a much-needed performance edition while AWD is great for handling and for dubious weather conditions.

2021 Mazda3 2.5 Turbo

The main news, is of course, the engine. A SkyActive 2.5-litre four cylinder with turbocharger that will deliver 227 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. That output increases to 250 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque with premium gas.

The new model will come as a hatch or sedan with AWD as standard along with an automatic transmission, 18 inch alloy wheels, a power moonroof, 8.8 inch touchscreen with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, paddle shifters and Bose audio.

That’s not all.

The 2021 Mazda3 2.5 Turbo will also come with a head-up display, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats and mirrors, LED headlights, LED driving lights, automatic wipers, three-year subscription to Mazda Connected Services and a trial of Mazda in-car WiFi.

The new Mazda will also come with  i-Activesense advanced driver assistance package. It includes adaptive cruise control with stop and go, adaptive headlights, lane-keep assist and blind spot monitoring.

Mazda has certainly packed a lot into this little car!

Upgrade to the Premium trim and you can add a trunk or roof spoiler, 360-degree View Monitor system, automatic braking and other goodies too.

Mazda3

The Mazda3 is a great little car holding its own in a time of crossovers and SUVs. We see a fair number of them on our roads and for good reason. They are great fun to drive, agile, easy to park, cheap to run and look great.

Add Mazda’s legendary build quality and interior fit and you have every reason to try one. The original Mazda3 was good. This turbo version with a lot more power should be extraordinary!

Pricing for the 2021 Mazda3 2.5 Turbo has yet to be announced but a released as been scheduled for the end of 2020. Pricing and an exact release date should be announced in the coming months.
