2021 Mazda CX-5: A Quick Overview

2021 Mazda CX-5: A Quick Overview

After seeing details on the 2021 Mazda CX-9 and the MX-5, it’s the turn of the 2021 Mazda CX-5. The midsize crossover from Mazda has finally been revealed by the automaker for all to see.

The 2021 Mazda CX-5 is the Japanese automaker’s biggest seller. Any changes to this popular formula have a lot riding on them. Fortunately, it seems the company has left well alone but offer a couple of important upgrades over the previous model.

First up is a new infotainment system. It uses a new 10.25” screen that ignores touch in favour of a rotary dial. It’s a widescreen format that runs in high resolution and seems very easy to use. It will be Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible too.

The second change is the inclusion of extra safety tech. This is a very welcome update that adds rear automatic emergency braking and a driver attention monitor as standard on the Signature trim.

Third is the new Carbon Editions that we have already discussed. Two models will be available, one for each engine and will come with the very attractive Polymetal Gray paint, black wheels, black trim and new black interior trim elements.

Finally, a new  Touring Preferred SV Package will become available. This includes a Bose 10-speaker audio, leather seats, power liftgate, power moonroof, auto-dimming rearview mirror with Homelink, six-way power passenger seat and eight-way power driver’s seat.

2021 Mazda CX-5

The 2021 Mazda CX-5 is a great looking crossover with typical Mazda design and driving dynamics. It’s a crossover that doesn’t feel like a crossover, with lively handling and very capable engines. A great option for those who want to combine practicality with a semblance of style.

There are several trims available for the 2021 Mazda CX-5, the GX, GS, GT, Signature Edition and a new Kuro Edition. Each climbs the ladder in terms of comfort, luxury and technology but all deliver the refinement you look for in a new car.

According to Mazda:

“The Mazda CX-5 stands out from other compact crossover SUVs with its modern design and energizing driving experience. The 2021 CX-5 will continue to exceed expectations with its largest-ever infotainment display, new i-Activsense safety features and a new stylish Carbon Edition.

“These enhancements complement the CX-5’s sophisticated design and available turbo engine to help further encourage owners to seek inspiring adventures. Mazda North American Operations today announces the 2021 Mazda CX-5 will arrive in dealerships next month.”
