2021 Kia Telluride Nightfall Edition

2021 Kia Telluride Nightfall Edition

Our final new reveal this week comes from Kia. They unveiled a special edition of their Telluride SUV, the 2021 Kia Telluride Nightfall Edition.

As the name suggests, the 2021 Kia Telluride Nightfall Edition is all about the black. It’s a Telluride EX trim with black paint, black grille, black exterior trim, black wheels and black light bezels. Everything is black and it looks amazing!

Black isn’t your only option either. There will be Wolf Gray, Snow White Pearl, Everlasting Silver, Gravity Gray, Ebony Black, Sangria, Black Copper and Dark Moss colours to choose from once the special edition launches.

2020 Kia Telluride

The Kia Telluride is The Car Connection's Best Car To Buy 2020 and definitely an SUV to watch. It’s a three row SUV that can seat eight in comfort. It looks premium, drives exceptionally well and has Kia’s usual fully loaded dashboard and great safety scores.

The design is very modern and looks premium. It’s a big car with flat panels and rounded edges to soften the profile. The big front end has a huge tiger nose grille and pair or vertical lights either side. A large windshield offers excellent visibility before it rolls into a flat roof to the rear of the vehicle.

All trims are comfortable places to spend time. The SUV can be configured with heated and vented front seats, second row captain’s chairs and a foldable rear seat. Folded down, that rear seat exposes a cavernous cargo area of over 46 cubic feet.

That large hood hides a 3.8-litre V6 engine that produces 291 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. An eight speed automatic transmission sends power to the front or all wheels.

The suspension is tuned for comfort and is soft and supple but not floaty. There is very little body roll despite its size and switchable driving modes means you can tune the ride to the situation. Steering is responsive and the switchable locking differential in AWD models makes short work of slippery roads.

The US IIHS gave the 2020 Kia Telluride a Top Safety Pick award while the NHTSA gave it five stars for safety if you spec the LED headlights. The SUV comes with adaptive cruise control with stop and go, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, active lane control and blind-spot monitors as standard.

The 2020 Kia Telluride is a great SUV and the 2021 model looks to improve on that. The 2021 Kia Telluride Nightfall Edition looks fantastic even though I’m not usually a big fan of the whole blacked out look.
