Here's The 2021 Kia K5 Price in Canada

The long awaited successor to the Kia Optima, the K5 is almost with us. Kia has scheduled the release for September and the sedan is expected to perform as well in dealership as on the road. That’s especially true if the release price anything to go by.

Kia has said that initial pricing for the 2021 Kia K5 will be $29,595 for LX AWD trim, $32,595 for EX AWD, $35,995 for the GT-Line AWD $39,995 for the GT. All prices in CAD.

Considering the looks, luxury and technology on offer, those prices are seriously competitive!

2021 Kia K5

The 2021 Kia K5 is the new version of the midsize sedan that was the Optima. It has a new design with a lower, wider and longer chassis and fantastic driving manners. It’s a definite alternative to mainstream sedans and makes a real statement on the road.

The design is very sleek. It has a low front end with curved hood and narrow grille. It’s still a tiger nose but not as tall. A set of angled lights sit to either side and an equally narrow lower sill completes the front.

A rising beltline and panel detailing adds interest to the profile along with an almost fastback design at the rear. A sloping roof flows seamlessly into the trunk, round a long light bar and over the bumper to the floor. A set of attractive alloy wheels finishes everything off nicely.

Inside the K5

The cabin of the K5 has been upgraded with higher quality materials. The longer chassis means more passenger space and the already comfortable seats seem even more so. An upgraded dashboard includes digital instruments, a touchscreen and a well-designed aesthetic that works incredibly well.

The K5 comes with an 8 inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is the option to go large with a 10.25 inch screen too with Bluetooth, real-time traffic and satellite radio.

At first glance you would think the K5 cost much more than it does!

Under the hood is a 1.6-litre turbocharged four cylinder that makes 180 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. It uses a new 8 speed automatic transmission to deliver drive to all wheels.

A new 2.5-litre turbocharged engine is on the way for the GT. It will deliver 290 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque and will use a dual clutch automatic to send power to the front wheels.

The K5 should also be safe as it comes with frontal collision warning, collision avoidance assistance, blind spot collision avoidance assistance, driver alert and lane assist. Kia has form for delivering high safety scores and we don’t expect anything different with the 2021 Kia K5!
