2020 Jeep Renegade Orange Edition

2020 Jeep Renegade Orange Edition

The Jeep Renegade doesn’t get anywhere near as much recognition as its larger siblings and that’s a shame. That’s why I’m highlighting the new 2020 Jeep Renegade Orange Edition. The good news is that it isn’t actually orange.

I love orange as a colour. It’s bright, happy and lively but I wouldn’t want to drive an orange car. Fortunately, the 2020 Jeep Renegade Orange Edition isn’t orange at all. Instead, it has some orange trim elements that offer a bit of personality to an already characterful vehicle.

Colour coordinated

The available colours include Alpine White, Glacier White, Granite Crystal or Black. This special edition comes with black aluminium wheels, black trim elements, black or orange badging and orange wing mirrors.

Inside, the main colour is black with contrasting orange stitching, orange bezels, orange vent and speaker trim.

As you can see, the orange is modest and done with a certain style. On one hand, you have to wonder if this is enough to name a special edition after it. On the other, how much orange would be too much? The overall effect is a good one though.

Giving Latitude

The 2020 Jeep Renegade Orange Edition is based on the Latitude trim. That means the 2.4-litre four cylinder engine with 180 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque using a 9 speed automatic transmission. It sends power to the front wheels.

The Renegade is a small Jeep with a big heart. I like it for its personality and sense of fun. It doesn’t have the road presence of a Cherokee or Wrangler but that works in its favour. It leaves the Renegade free to be who it wants to be without the huge expectation heaped on those two other models.

The design is Jeep with its grille and light setup. It is also quite angular thanks to the fender arches and panel detailing at the rear quarter. A small uplift in the rear quarterlight also adds a little interest, making this a handsome car to behold.

Inside, the cabin is modest but done well. It will comfortably seat four adults with room for some cargo in back. This is a small SUV so don’t expect acres of leg or headroom in back. You can sit comfortably though.

The Latitude comes with the 7” screen that can be increased to 8.4” as an option. You also have the option of the My Sky sunroof, panoramic sunroof, the Jeep Safety & Security Group II, Advanced Technology Group and other optional extras.

While I’m still not sure on the naming of the 2020 Jeep Renegade Orange Edition, the effect is definitely a good one. Check it out at Unique Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, 915 Walkers Line, Burlington, ON L7N 3V8 and see for yourself.
