2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility is the fastest in North America

640 × 368
Ford says its new 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility is the fastest cop vehicle in North America after it completed the most recent Michigan State Police trials. The trials are held regularly to assess the next generation of cop car. Ford usually attends and performs well but this time they did exceptionally well.

The 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility delivered the fastest acceleration, fastest lap of the track and the best average lap time. It also posted the highest top speed of 150 mph. The 2019 Dodge Charger came a close second, only 0.1 seconds behind the Ford in the 0-60mph test and 1mph slower at the top speed test.

That becomes more impressive when you realize that the 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility uses a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine and the 2019 Dodge Charger uses a big V8.

Of course, speed, 0-60 times and lap times are only a tiny part of what makes a good cop car. Ford seems to get it right there too as the automaker says they already have 52% of the law enforcement market in the US.
The 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility is based on a Ford Explorer and will offer a hybrid drivetrain as well as this high performance turbo V6.

2019 Ford Explorer
The 2019 Ford Explorer is a full size SUV that has a proven track record in helping families and law enforcement. It handles anything you throw at it and will just keep going. Anyone in the market for a good looking, great performing SUV should definitely look at an Explorer.

The design is tidy. It’s an established design that has been refined over the past seven years to still look modern and up to date. It’s classic Ford, with big grille, recognizable lighting and SUV shape. It looks solid, yet flexible, robust yet agile and for those reasons it sells very well.

Inside, the 2019 Ford Explorer offers interior space and comfort aplenty. The front seats are adjustable and supportive, the rear two rows have enough space for adults and fold down to offer decent cargo space too. Technology is typically Ford, plentiful and easy to use.

Under the hood is either a 3.5-litre V6 rated at 290 hp and 255 lb-ft of torque, a 2.3-litre turbo rated at 280 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque or a twin-turbo 3.5-litre V6 rated at 365 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. All models use a six speed automatic transmission to feed the front or all wheels.

The 2019 Ford Explorer is an excellent choice for busy families who need the space. Visit Northway Ford Lincoln, 388 King George Road Brantford ON N3S 3N2 to get a great deal on your next Ford!
