2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

640 × 405
I think the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is about as extreme a performance car you can get that can still be a daily driver. Sure it’s going to be expensive to fill the tank but in terms of comfort and everyday practicality goes, the Ford still delivers. This new version is all that and then some!

The news from Ford is that the new V8 engine is going to deliver 760 hp. It’s a 5.2-litre supercharged V8 that produces 760 hp and 625 lb-ft of torque. It will use a double clutch transmission and some serious aerodynamics to go from 0-60 mph in less than 3 seconds.

What’s more, these figures put the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 way ahead of the competition. That is 110 more hp than the Camaro ZL1, 53 hp more than the Challenger Hellcat and even 1 hp more than the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ that costs many times as much.
The GT500 should be with us soon so put your name down if you want one as I don’t imagine many will be made and there is probably already a queue forming at Ford dealerships!

2019 Ford Mustang
If you want the same kind of fun in a slightly more realistic package, the standard 2019 Ford Mustang is the one to beat. With excellent road manners, enough power for most owners and everyday practicality to be a daily driver along with those looks, this is definitely the car to get.

The design is awesome and combines the aggressive nature of a performance car with the appeal of a mass market model. It’s the ideal middle ground that doesn’t put people off and doesn’t leave them wanting more. The cabin is much the same. Well put-together, well-specified, comfortable and with enough technology to provide everything you want without overwhelming you.

Under the hood is either a 2.3-litre turbocharged four cylinder that produces 310 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque or a 5.0-litre V8 that produces 460 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. Both use a ten speed automatic or six speed manual to drive the rear wheels.

The Mustang comes as EcoBoost, GT, Bullitt and Shelby GT350 trims. It’s the EcoBoost or GT that most of us will buy and you get a lot for your money. The EcoBoost offers LED headlights, the turbo engine, 6-speed manual transmission, keyless ignition, six-speaker audio system with Bluetooth and Line Lock. This being Ford, there are options galore too. The GT adds the V8 engine, 18 inch wheels, power front seats and rear parking sensors.

The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 may become a poster on a wall somewhere but the 2019 Ford Mustang can easily be on your drive. Visit Northway Ford Lincoln, 388 King George Road Brantford ON N3S 3N2 to secure yours.
