2019 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock

640 × 392
Ram have released details of a new version of a classic model in the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock. The first Warlock hit the streets during the 1970s and was a success by all accounts. Ram want to repeat that success with a modern truck and I must say, I like it!

The original Warlock had vinyl stripes, wooden exterior trim and not much else. Fortunately, this new version is offering a little more for your money. The 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock offers blacked out trim, badging, wheels, and interior. It also gets uprated rear suspension and a one inch lift as standard.

On the inside, new Diesel Grey upholstery is the only option with black trim, bucket seats and the option for a larger 8.4 inch touchscreen. There is also an optional sport hood and black side steps to complete the look. All in all, the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock is a mean looking truck!

It will be available in either the 3.6-litre V6 Pentastar or 5.7-litre V8 Hemi engine.

2019 Ram 1500
The 2019 Ram 1500 should need no introduction. You see 1500 trucks everywhere, from contractors to utilities and plenty of home users too. The 2019 model is all new. It gets a new look, new mechanicals and is apparently 225 pounds lighter too.

I have covered the design changes at length before so let us look at some other elements of the truck.

It is available in two sizes, two cab styles, two bed lengths and in RWD and AWD. Two engine options are available, with or without a mild hybrid system. The 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 comes with mild hybrid while the 5.7-litre V8 can come with or without mild hybrid. Both use an eight speed automatic transmission.

The standard mild hybrid system is called eTorque. It uses a 48 volt integrated generator that is fed from a battery pack located in the rear of the cabin wall. It works seamlessly with the engine to provide more power and better efficiency. So far, reviews seem favourable and while I haven’t been able to try it myself, it seems t be going down well with owners.

The truck also features lane-keep assist, self-parking and adaptive cruise control and has the option for standard cruise and emergency braking front and rear.

The 2019 Ram 1500 has the looks, the comfort and the capability you expect of a truck of this calibre. It also offers decent safety and the new split rear tailgate is a minor change set to offer big advantages.
