Details of the new big Jeep have been released and we will be getting more safety tech as standard with this new model. There are also other new features to expect too, which makes the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee something to look forward to. As one of our favourite full size SUVs, it is looking hopeful for the upcoming year!
The 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee will apparently receive Blind-Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path detection as standard on all models. This is a neat safety feature that helps highway driving and warns you of any vehicles in your blind spots when manoeuvring. It’s a welcome addition to the existing safety tech and offers a real benefit to a vehicle as large as this.
Other new features include the newest version of Uconnect and an 8.4 inch touchscreen with pinch and zoom, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, new colours and a new trim for the Limited in the Limited X. This new trim has a new front and rear end design, a vented hood, unique 20 inch wheels, new seats and trim and interior design. I have yet to see an image of the Limited X but I like the sound of it already.
The three new colour options are Green Metallic, Slate Blue Pearl and Sting-Grey and will be available across the range.
2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee
I am excited to see the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The new look is impressive and the new features sound like they will make a real difference. I have always liked the Grand Cherokee as it has balanced the utility of Jeep with the comfort of a luxury sedan and made the two work. Of all our domestic SUVs, this is my favourite I think.
The front end gets slightly updated with a narrower grill and light setup and wider lower valance. Air ducts, and hood detailing continue from previous models. The design is very modern and the fact there is less chrome on show on some models is only a good thing as far as I’m concerned.
Inside the cabin is as comfortable and as luxurious as ever with the ability to specify every modern feature you can think of. It’s spacious, quiet and very comfortable, whichever seat you’re in.
Under the hood is one of four engines. There’s a 3.6-litre V6 Pentastar that produces 295 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, a 5.7-litre V8 that produces 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque, a 6.4-litre V8 for the SRT that produces 475 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque and the Trackhawk with its 6.2-litre supercharged V8 that generates 707 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque. All use the TorqueFlite eight speed automatic transmission.
If there is one thing you’re never short of with a Grand Cherokee, it’s power!
