The 2019 Ford Tranist Connect Has Best In Class Gas Mileage

The 2019 Ford Transit Connect is going to continue the path blazed by previous models and help Ford continue to dominate the commercial van market. With solid design, great engines and a bewildering array of options, this model is going to be a winner I can tell. That is even more likely now the US EPA has rated its gas mileage.
According to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the 2.0-litre four cylinder 2019 Ford Transit Connect achieves 26 mpg combined, 24 mpg city and 29 mpg highway. That is the most of any small van available in the US and therefore in Canada too.
Ford credits the new start-stop feature and the new eight speed automatic transmission for these gains. It is the transmission developed with General Motors alongside the ubiquitous ten speed that we see in lots of Ford vehicles. This eight speed has many of the qualities of the ten but is designed for lighter duties.

The Transit Connect dominates the cargo van market and for good reason. It is well designed, value for money, reliable and infinitely flexible. For large vans the Transit is king. For smaller vans, the Transit Connect rules the roost. It’s a small van with a big heart and is pretty good to drive.
The design looks like many Ford vehicles right now. Angled headlights, signature grill, fluted hood and raked windshield. Rather than rolling over the roof, this design stays horizontal to provide the cargo space in back, 149 cubic feet of it apparently.
Inside, the 2019 Ford Transit Connect is more car-like than ever before with good levels of technology, very comfortable seating, decent sound insulation and less of the hard plastic and barebones feel of before.
There are two engines available for the Connect. A 2.0-litre four cylinder as tested by the EPA and produces 160 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque and a 1.5-litre turbodiesel. The diesel isn’t available yet but is expected within the coming months. The gas engine delivers steady power without having to wring its neck and the new eight speed transmission is smooth and never leaves you wanting whether you’re fully loaded or running empty.
New suspension geometry provides a much smoother ride and more stability on the road. While it is still a little way off sedan quality, it is very composed and doesn’t bounce around like older models had a tendency to do when unladen.
The 2019 Ford Transit Connect can be specified with forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking with dynamic braking support, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and lane keep assist too. That should elevate its safety record even further. The Connect is also compatible with Ford MyKey for control over engine warnings, speed limits and other useful controls.
The 2019 Ford Transit Connect is a worthy successor to the previous model and looks to deliver on all counts. Visit Northway Ford Lincoln, 388 King George Road Brantford ON N3S 3N2 to learn more!
