Now 2019 has actually arrived, it’s a good time to take a look at one of the years’ most exciting cars, the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. The Challenger has been around for over a decade now but is still going strong and getting stronger. Certainly if this latest model is anything to go by. Dodge have been doing a fantastic job!
The 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is new for the model year and picks up where the Demon left off. It’s fast. It’s loud and it ticks every single box for muscle car fans with a few extra boxes in the practicality category too.

The Demon may only have been with us for the shortest time but it left people wanting more. That’s where the SRT Hellcat Redeye comes in. With hellcat badging with red eyes, supposedly demoting its demonic influence, this car is special.
The design is nothing new but it is new. It’s classic Challenger but with some modern tweaks that make the classic design seem bang up to date. It’s an excellent balance between heritage and modernity and I think it works very well indeed. This is obviously the sportiest version but even the standard Challenger still looks fresh.
The 2019 model gets some new hood designs, some minor trim tweaks and some technology to boost performance. As if the Hellcat needed any more help, all models will feature Launch Control, Launch Assist, Line Lock and Torque Reserve. Each does their bit to help straight line speed and the ability to get off the line as quickly as possible.
Delivering that power is an awesome 6.2-litre supercharged V8 engine that delivers 797 hp and 707 lb-ft of torque. This car is all about that straight line speed and achieves 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds, a quarter-mile in 10.8 seconds at a speed of 131 mph. It has a top speed of 203 mph.
All those performance specs are great, but the majority of owners aren’t going to be taking their Hellcats to the drag strip every day. So what about everyday driving? This is another element of awesomeness for the Hellcat. Use a heavy foot and things get very loud very quickly. Exercise self-control and keep that foot light and the Hellcat is almost a daily driver. The whine of the supercharge reminds you of what you’re driving but the car is otherwise very well mannered.
The 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is not an all-or-nothing car and can genuinely be an everyday driver. That and that engine noise makes it one of my top picks for 2019. Check it out at Unique Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, 915 Walkers Line, Burlington, ON L7N 3V8.
