2018 Nissan Frontier
Posted on October 12, 2017
The 2018 Nissan Frontier has been with us for a few years now and is proof that there is more to the truck market than an F-series or a Ram. While not as ubiquitous as the F-150, this Nissan truck demonstrates that being different is no bad thing.
For the 2018 Nissan Frontier, most of the changes are inside. The new models receives Bluetooth connectivity, a 5.0-inch screen, cruise control, air conditioning and a rearview camera. All designed to make living with the truck easier than ever.
There is also a special Midnight Edition of the 2018 Nissan Frontier that turns it black. Black trim, black wheels, black body, black interior and so on. It actually looks very good when you see it up close and would be the version I would choose were I to be in the market for a truck.
The design is simple but effective. It uses the familiar Nissan front end with V-grille, simple panel styling and coloured trim. It is a work truck so everything is built rugged and designed to survive.
That doesn’t mean it isn’t comfortable though. The interior is very comfortable with supportive seating, good visibility, everything within easy reach and features thoughtfully positioned switches and controls. There are lots of storage and practical touches too.
2018 Nissan Frontier features and options
The 2018 Nissan Frontier has two engine options. One is a 2.5-litre four cylinder that delivers 152 hp while the other is a 4.0-litre V6 that delivers 261 hp. Both use a manual or automatic transmission to send power to the rear wheels. The V6 engine offers the opportunity for all wheel drive.
The wheelbase is stable and composed and while not as rugged looking as competitors, the Frontier can more than hold its own. The PRO-4X trim especially as it comes with the option for off-road tires, higher ground clearance and other goodies.
The Frontier comes as a King or Crew Cab and five packages. Those packages are S Work Truck, SV Value Truck, Moonroof, Premium and Midnight Edition. Each adds a range of features including custom mats, leather interior, leather trim, heated seats and mirrors, the black features or the Midnight Edition and a few other upgrades.
The updated 2018 Nissan Frontier is out now.
