2018 Nissan 370z Heritage Edition: A Quick Overview

Another visitor to the New York International Auto Show is the new 2018 Nissan 370Z Heritage Edition. This Nissan never seems to get the kind of love it deserves. Hopefully that will change with this special edition.
The Nissan 370Z is a solid sports car that is as comfortable driving you to work or to the store as it is driving across Canada or on a track. It is a very well balanced car that often sits in the shadow of the awesome Nissan GT-R. It deserves more than that and hopefully, the 2018 Nissan 370Z Heritage Edition will help get it.

The Nissan 370Z often receives criticism for having been around since 2009 with very minor updates. There is a good reason for that and it’s the same one that every ‘Z’ car has had since their inception. They are so good, so well balanced and so accomplished that they don’t need massive updates.
As technology moves on, so does the 2018 Nissan 370Z but if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Plus, Nissan have hinted over the past year or so that they are planning either a brand new Z car based on the original 270Z or something else. The automaker has also teased a Z-based SUV but has yet to demonstrate anything to support either idea. I and many other people interested in the auto industry would really like Nissan to get on with building something based on those two IDX concepts we saw at previous auto shows.
The Z car turns 50 in two years, so maybe the big surprises will come then.
The 2018 Nissan 370Z Heritage Edition offers some very minor changes but they combine to deliver a completely different experience. Mechanically, very little has changed. It is the same 3.7-litre V6 engine that produces 332 hp or 350 hp as a Nismo, it is still rear wheel drive and still has a manual transmission option.
What the 2018 Nissan 370Z Heritage Edition does bring is a new yellow and black colourway. The Chicane Yellow colour scheme features a black stripe, black side mirrors and black trim. It reverses in the cabin with black upholstery and yellow trim. The Magnetic Black colour has silver stripes and trim with yellow trim on the interior.
The 2018 Nissan 370Z Heritage Edition will debut at this weeks’ New York International Auto Show, presumably with more detail. The car is expected to go on sale this spring.
