2018 Lincoln Navigator getting excellent reviews

2018 Lincoln Navigator getting excellent reviews

640 × 480
The 2018 Lincoln Navigator has been a long time coming but it seems the wait was worth it. Whether it was to avoid delaying any of the F-series trucks that it shares the production line with or whether there were further refinements Lincoln wanted to make, the wait is finally over.

Shown once more at a media launch in Whistler, BC, the 2018 Lincoln Navigator is now finally here. So far, from what we have seen, reviewers seem to like the 2018 Lincoln Navigator. While larger and heavier than previous models, it is also more comfortable, more feature packed and more connected than ever before.

2018 Lincoln Navigator design
There is no avoiding the obvious. The Navigator does look a lot like the Expedition. However, it also looks different enough to be its own beast and has enough refinement on the inside and out to make it a full bred Lincoln.

The profile is imposing. At five metres in length and a couple tall, you’re going to have to work hard to miss this while on the streets. The big grille and lights are more subtle than before while the lower sill arrangement adds the option for more chrome and a slightly sporty look but is still sizeable. The profile is simple, yet very effective with understated detailing down the flank over slightly flared wheel arches.

On the inside, it’s all about the luxury and that is where this Lincoln shines. Quality is everywhere, from the crispness of the LED instruments to the shut lines of the interior panels and dashboard. Seats are very comfortable and almost infinitely adjustable while rear seat passengers can stretch out in comfort. It is the interior that will sell this car over everything else.

2018 Lincoln Navigator engine and mechanicals
The 2018 Lincoln Navigator uses Ford’s very capable 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 engine. This twin turbocharged unit generates 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque and sends it to all wheels via Ford’s equally capable 10 speed automatic transmission. The engine manages to haul this three ton SUV quickly without making it feel heavy. That alone is an achievement!

The Navigator has six driving modes covering every possible environment or situation you are likely to come across. It also has noise cancelling, lots of insulation and a very cossetting cockpit to remove as much of the outside world as possible.

As you would expect, the options list for the 2018 Lincoln Navigator is impressively long. It includes a heads-up display, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, pre-collision alert, pedestrian detection, WiFi antenna with 4G LTE connectivity, active park assist, panoramic roof, 20-speaker Revel audio and a ton of others.

The 2018 Lincoln Navigator should arrive at Northway Ford Lincoln any day now. Visit or contact Northway Ford Lincoln, 388 King George Road Brantford ON N3S 3N2 to book a test drive!
