2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk

2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk

640 × 480
The hotly anticipated 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has been seen without its camouflage in the U.S. It is more subtle than any of us thought it would be but it still looks the part. The inclusion of 6.2-litre HEMI V8 in the Jeep is what most of us were interested in but it’s good to see the rest of the design take shape around it.

Unusually in a performance model, the grille is actually quite understated in the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Given how pivotal to grille has always been to Jeep vehicles, it is quite surprising to see it take a back seat in a showpiece model. However, it might be the right decision as when you sit back and look at the Trackhawk, the small black grille actually fits.

The rest of the design takes a lot of inspiration from the Cherokee SRT model but also adds a lot of its own personality. The new front bumper immediately marks out the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk as something a little different. Add the extra air intake within that new bumper and the new position of the fog lights and you begin to see the differences.

HEMI power
The main focus of this model is of course the engine. The awesome 6.2-litre HEMI V8 that produces 707 hp through an eight speed automatic transmission. That power output might actually be more if rumours about a power boost to that motor as featured in the Challenger Hellcat are to be believed. The next-gen HEMI is widely expected to deliver 750 hp, but whether it would be the same motor in the Trackhawk remains to be seen.

The JGC is one of the few 'proper' SUVs that manages to be comfortable on the road and off the road. It offers refined highway manners, supportive seating, a quiet cabin, good build quality and all round comfort. Take it off road and the SUV can handle most terrains with ease, certainly more than your average SUV.

The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will likely be specified similarly to the SRT model which offers 20 inch alloy wheels, adaptive suspension, tuned steering, Brembo brakes, limited-slip differential, programmed driving modes, unique interior trim, gauges and upholstery.

With the debut of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk expected either this year at LA or next year at Detroit, we have a while yet to find out more about this enigmatic SUV. In the meantime, visit Unique Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, 915 Walkers Line, Burlington, ON  L7N 3V8 to see the current Grand Cherokee range.
