2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk

2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk

640 × 480
We got to see the engine bay of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk last week and it confirmed all our suspicions. the new Jeep will indeed be powered by the supercharged HEMI V8 as in the Dodge Charger Hellcat.

The image, hosted on Left Lane News, clearly shows a supercharger bolted on top of a big motor which has been ‘confirmed’ as the 6.2-litre V8 that drivers the Hellcat. In the Charger, that motor is capable of 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. We have no idea what the engine will deliver in the Trackhawk but we doubt it will be much less if not more.

We have seen lots of spy shots of the exterior and it looks a lot like the SRT model except for some minor details at the front and at the rear. It is a great looking SUV and probably the best design Jeep have come up with for a long time. With AWD, it is estimated that the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will be an awesome performer too.

According to Jeep, the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will arrive before the end of the year. Expect to see it at an auto show between now and then.

2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee
The Grand Cherokee is one of the few modern SUVs that can comfortably go off road. With composed on road performance too, it really is a go anywhere vehicle. It doesn’t look too bad either.

The new design is awesome. The new front end is still definitely Jeep but brought into the modern age with a little bit more upmarket presence thrown in. A nice grille and lower valance gives the impression of size while the detailed hood slopes up to the raked windshield. Every panel has some detailing on it to maintain interest but manages to do so without being overly fussy.

On the inside, there is room enough for five adults to sit in comfort. The seating position is high and affords great views of the road or surroundings. The materials have all been improved, as has the finishing. The driving position is a nice one, with lots of dials and switches to hand. Controls are solid and reassuring making it easy to drive. Cameras and parking sensors make it easy to park too.

The 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee comes in five trim levels: Laredo, Limited, Trailhawk, Overland and Summit. All are well equipped and offer a host of options. The Laredo starts off with the 3.5-litre V6 engine and has alloy wheels, automatic lighting, heated mirrors, camera, keyless entry and ignition, climate control, Bluetooth and a 5 inch touchscreen. Other trims offer many more features on top of those.

While we are undoubtedly excited about the arrival of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk later this year, the current crop of models are nothing to be sniffed at either.
