2018 Dodge Durango RT & SRT Get New Part Upgrades
Posted on February 13, 2018
If you want to customize your 2018 Dodge Durango R/T or SRT and make it look just a little bit better, FCA have your back. Dodge has released some trick parts to make your Durango stand out even more when you’re on the road.
The parts are going to be unveiled at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show but they have given us a preview of what to expect. First up is a lowering kit from Mopar that drops the ride height by around half an inch. New springs have been designed to work with the existing dampers so don’t affect the ride or require replacement.
Next up is a stainless steel exhaust kit. There are a range of kits and fitments for both the R/T and SRT and include four inch polished tips. Kits differ by fitment but can include a complete system or just the backbox.
Dual centre strips are probably the most obvious upgrade to your 2018 Dodge Durango R/T and SRT. They are available in five ‘sinister’ stripe colours, Bright Blue, Flame Red, Gunmetal, Black and Sterling Silver. The stripe runs the entire length of the car from the lower sill at the front, all over the hood, roof, tailgate and down to the exhaust tips.
Finally, we have the interior carbon fibre kit. Said to contain actual carbon fibre, not an analogue or patterned vinyl, this kit adds the carbon look to the door panels, speaker rings, instrument panel and likely other areas too.
All parts will be available within the next month or two.
2018 Dodge Durango SRT
The 2018 Dodge Durango SRT is a very decent SUV built on a Mercedes-Benz platform. It is the same one used in the Jeep Grand Cherokee and has proven itself very solid and reliable so far.
Design-wise, the original Durango has been given a new body kit, new alloy wheels, new grille and air intake, new exhaust and a new cabin trim. It still looks like a Durango, only better.
The 6.4-litre Hemi V8 engine is capable of delivering 475 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. It uses an eight speed Torqueflite automatic transmission to send power to all wheels.
If you’re in the market for an SUV and need three rows but have no intention of staying in the slow lane, the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT could be what you’re looking for. It has the three rows, is very well specified and has that awesome Hemi V8. It doesn’t look bad either!
