2018 Chrysler Pacifica S: A Quick Overview

2018 Chrysler Pacifica S: A Quick Overview

640 × 367

The Chrysler Pacifica did a great job of shaking up the people carrier market but it seems the big Chrysler isn’t done yet. The blacked out 2018 Chrysler Pacifica S shows that there is still plenty of imagination left in the minivan yet.

The blacked out look is still popular right now with the Midnight Edition range of vehicles as well as those from other automakers. Black wheels have been a thing for a while and I happen to think they look good in some situations but not so good in others. Fortunately, I think they work well here.

The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica S offers black paintwork, black trim, black alloy wheels and a black interior with grey contrast panels and stitching. The S upgrade costs $595 while growing the wheels from standard 18” to 20” will cost an extra $995.

I thought I was over the black thing but it seems not. I happen to like the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica S!

2018 Chrysler Pacifica

The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica is the best thing to happen to minivans for a long time. It has not only reopened the market for families but also offers an alternative to the SUV if you don’t want a bulky vehicle but still need passenger or cargo space. Car Nation Canada has seen more than a few single people buying these to carry mountain bikes or outdoor equipment because they don’t want to join the ranks of SUV owners.

Part of that appeal is down to the design. It’s a van but not like a van. It has a sleek design that offers a very aero but modern look with all the practicality of a Transit Connect. The interior is very well done and includes fold flat seating and acres of cargo space in the back.

The standard 3.6-litre V6 engine produces 287 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque and uses a nine speed automatic transmission. There is also a hybrid model that gets very good gas mileage should you prefer.

There are six trims, L, LX, Touring Plus, Touring L, Touring L Plus and Limited. Each offers a little more than the preceding trim but even the base L is well equipped. It comes with heated mirrors, keyless entry and ignition, reversing camera, blind spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, dual-zone climate control, a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth and six speaker audio.

Other trims add alloy wheels, auto lighting, power liftgate, climate control, satellite radio, upgraded audio, navigation, automatic high beam control, front parking sensors, a sound-reducing windshield, automatic wipers, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, an automated parking system, a top-down parking camera and a larger driver information display, to name just a few.

The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica is a top quality vehicle that appeals to more than just families.
