2017 Nissan Pathfinder spied

2017 Nissan Pathfinder spied

The Nissan Pathfinder is one of the best looking crossover SUVs on the market so it’s good that the Japanese automaker is keeping it current. Introduced in 2013, the existing model is a handsome and capable beast but this new one looks even better.

Spied testing under come camouflage, the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder has a very similar shape to the existing model. Heavy camo at the front end hint at big changes there though. We can see the grille has changed to three bars to give it a truck-like appearance and we see a modern set of angled headlights too.

The fog light integration looks much tidier and the lower front facia looks more like an Edge. The rear changes are harder to make out. The camo does a much better job but it does look like the rear lights are new and that the bumpers have a new shape too. Other than that, we don’t know much else. We’ll keep our ear to the ground to see if we can learn more.

2015 Nissan Pathfinder

The 2017 Nissan Pathfinder is one of our favourite crossovers. With legendary Nissan build quality and cabins, capable engines and practical layouts, there isn’t much to complain about with these cars. A huge list of options, some nice colours and a fair price are just the icing on the cake.

The current Pathfinder uses a car unibody construction instead of the truck version it used before. That gives it much better road manners, a much more comfortable drive and excellent gas mileage. It literally transforms now the Pathfinder feels when inside.

That new chassis, along with a new body helps reduce weight by over 500 lbs and provide a much more aerodynamic and most importantly, owner-pleasing shape. Inside, Nissan cements its reputation for building outstanding interiors. The cabin is spacious, full of technology, nice materials and a feeling of upscale quality throughout.

Under the hood is a 3.5-litre V6 engine that’s good for 260 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque. It uses a CVT transmission to send power to the front or all wheels. There is a hybrid powertrain option available too that uses a 2.5-litre supercharged four cylinder alongside an electric motor to deliver the equivalent of 250 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque.

The 2015 Nissan Pathfinder is available in S, SV, SL and Limited trims that offer everything from alloy wheels, automatic climate control, navigation, wood trim, Bose audio, DVD entertainment system and much more.
