The 2017 Nissan Maxima is a great looking sedan with genuine sporty pretensions. Set up to deliver both excitement and refinement, this neat Nissan is the ideal family car that will also make you smile.
Released a little while ago, the 2017 Nissan Maxima has gone down very well with Car Nation Canada customers. The design strikes the perfect balance between a sensible commuter and sports sedan. The sinuous lines, curvy waist, sloped roof and tight rear end all offer the kind of visuals we like to see.
The signature Nissan V grille is where it should be, flanked by an interesting set of headlights. A nicely designed lower sill with fog lights begin that sport look. Curved hood, raked windshield curved wheel arches and flowing lines complete the look.
While sporty in looks, the cabin really is the jack of all trades. It is comfortable and has a hint of luxury about it. It is easy to imagine both an exciting weekend road trip making the most of the sports tuned suspension or cruising along the highway on the daily commute.
Seating is very comfortable, even in back while the driving position has been very carefully thought out. The controls and large gauges are apparently inspired by the F/A18 fighter jet. There is an 8 inch touchscreen in the centre stack with navigation and reversing camera too. Overall, the cabin represents Nissan well, which already puts it ahead of the rest.
All 2017 Nissan Maxima use the same engine, a 3.5-litre V6 that produces 300 hp and 261 lb-ft of torque. It sends power to the wheels via Nissan’s slick CVT transmission.
Despite the sporty moniker, the Maxima drives comfortably. The SR trim offers a firmer ride should you prefer it but the rest of the range is very comfortable indeed. Minimal body roll and great grip are typical traits of this car making it very driveable indeed.
Safety is important to Nissan and the 2017 Nissan Maxima is a case in point. The sedan features antilock brakes, traction and stability control, side curtain airbags and a rearview camera. Optional blind-spot monitoring system, rear cross-traffic alert, 360-degree parking camera system with a moving object detection system, a driver drowsiness monitor and a forward collision warning and mitigation system with automatic braking is also available.
With a five star safety rating, the Maxima is one of the safest cars on the road right now.
The 2017 Nissan Maxima is a car that crosses boundaries and really can be all things to all people. Visit Collins Nissan, 155 Scott Street, St. Catharines, Ontario, L2N 1H3 to see for yourself!
