2017 Nissan Armada

2017 Nissan Armada

Nissan have announced plans for a complete redesign of its flagship SUV and showed it at Chicago last week. Announced the week before the show, the new SUV looks fantastic and delivers that premium SUV quality we look for.
The 2017 Nissan Armada heralds a shift from truck to SUV with the move from the Titan chassis to the one from the Patrol. The Nissan Patrol is a full size SUV sold in other regions, including Europe and the Middle East. It’s another heritage design with a long history and is exceptionally popular. You may have seen it before as the Infiniti QX80.
"The Nissan Patrol nameplate goes back to 1951 and its reputation as a global workhorse is unparalleled -- whether as a frequent support vehicle to the United Nations’ peace-keeping efforts or as a three-time class winner of the Paris-Dakar Rally,” said Michael Bunce, vice president, product planning, Nissan North America Inc.
“While the new Armada is intended primarily for family adventures here in North America, Armada owners will benefit from its underpinnings as a strong, durable and authentic full-size SUV with ruggedness to spare."
In profile, the 2017 Nissan Armada looks almost identical to its Infiniti cousin. From the front and rear, it’s all new. The typical Nissan front grille is present as you would expect, flanked by large headlights. A tough-looking bumper with LED running lights also differentiates it. The rear has a range of influences, from heritage to modern. Chrome trim, horizontal lighting and huge rear bumper give it a unique look.
On the inside, the SUV is all Nissan. Finishing and materials are exactly the kind of quality you would expect. The 2017 Nissan Armada is spacious and well equipped. It can seat up to eight in comfort and carry cargo in the back too. Noise insulation throughout should mean a quiet as well as comfortable ride.
Under the hood is a 5.6-litre V8 that delivers 390 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque. It uses a seven speed automatic transmission to send power to the rear or all wheels.
The 2017 Nissan Armada will be available in two trims, SL and Platinum. SL trim equipment is typically generous. SL Armadas will have an eight inch touchscreen with navigation, Bose audio with 13 speakers, alloy wheels, forward collision warning, backup collision intervention, intelligent cruise control, distance control assist, and lane departure prevention. Expect a lot more with the Platinum.
The 2017 Nissan Armada offers a lot of car for the money and will go on sale this summer. Visit Collins Nissan, 155 Scott Street, St. Catharines, Ontario, L2N 1H3 for more information.
