2017 Ford Transit preorders coming soon

2017 Ford Transit preorders coming soon

Even though we are only three months into 2016, automakers are already forging ahead with future models. So much so that Ford have announced pre-orders for the 2017 Ford Transit and Transit Connect will begin in a couple of weeks, with deliveries expected during September.

Pre-orders for the Transit begin on April 14th while the Transit Connect goes live March 14th. No prices have yet been revealed and we’re guessing specifics will become available on the opening day.

2017 Ford Transit
There are some good changes coming for the 2017 Ford Transit. It’s already the best-selling cargo van in North America and it’s only going to get better. There is set to be 64 different configurations with this next model, more than the current model which offers ‘only’ 58.

The reliable 3.7-litre engine will now be standard on dual-rear-wheel van and wagon models. It’s a V6 that produces 275 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque and has proven itself in thousands of these vans across the continent. There is also a more powerful turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 available that delivers 310 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque and a 3.2-litre diesel that’s good for 185 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. All use a six speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear.

The interior sees some changes with the introduction of a walk-through console at the front. After customer feedback, Ford are introducing the feature to help everyday use. Heated front seats and power adjustable seats are also coming, as are high capacity uplifter switches.

Ford Sync 3 will also be made available along with a 6.5 inch touchscreen and navigation. It will be standard on Titanium models. Improved audio will also be introduced with four speakers and higher quality head unit.

Other changes for the 2017 Ford Transit include a new rearview mirror for Transit cutaway models, heavy-duty alternator, auxiliary fuse box, modified vehicle wiring system, dual heavy-duty batteries and a new interface connector for the uplifter switchgear, LED lighting, passenger-side power running board, styled alloy wheels with locking lug nuts, White Gold metallic paint and other minor updates.

There will also be two new trims, Titanium and XLT. The options for both of these will closely reflect those of Ford sedans and will include options such as automatic headlamps, roof rails, six-way power driver’s seat and reversing sensors.

Ford E-series trucks also get some love with a new engine. A new 6.2-litre V8 will be available alongside the V10 engine already on the list.

The 2017 Ford Transit will be available to pre-order on April 14th. The Transit Connect goes live March 14th. Visit Northway Ford Lincoln, 388 King George Road Brantford ON N3S 3N2 to put your order down or to check out the great deals on new and used vans.
