2017 Ford F-150 Raptor coming with different driving modes

We covered Jeep's upcoming performance model yesterday so it's only right that we do the same for Ford today. News that the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor will include a selection of driving modes isn't perhaps the most fascinating news in the world, but it is the perfect excuse to watch a video of the Raptor in action.

First the news that the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor will have on road driving modes. Three of them in fact, normal mode for fairly neutral driving on a variety of roads, Sport unleashes a little of the Raptor's power and handling potential and weather mode which will utilize 4 Auto AdvanceTrac for better handling and presumably, limit the potential once again to keep the truck safely on the road.

While driving modes are all very well, it is weather mode that is most intriguing. Given our climate up here, anything that makes driving a performance vehicle safer in adverse conditions resonates well with us. With big tyres, big brakes and great handling, all the ingredients are therefor some very competent road handling in the rain, ice or snow.

Other driving modes include mud and sand mode which tunes the truck to handling loose terrain, locks the differential and stays in 4 High. Baja mode is still for the rough stuff but builds up high speed handling. It uses sport mode with 4 High while dialling back the management for maximum fun potential.

Finally, rock crawl mode locks you into 4 Low and tightens everything up for maximum mobility. It also engages the front camera so you can see exactly what's going on beneath the bash plate.
So without further ado, here's the video.

The video understandably concentrates on the more exciting off road driving modes and it does make great viewing. If you didn't want aRaptor before watching it, we bet a few more of you want one now!

The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor will be available sometime later this year. For now, the current Raptor is still awesome. Visit Northway Ford Lincoln, 388 King George Road Brantford ON N3S 3N2 to arrange a test drive.
