2017 Chrysler Pacifica awarded five star safety rating

640 × 480
There are lots of reasons to like the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. It’s a great looking vehicle, it fits even larger families in comfortably, has lots of space, a good engine and will keep the minivan segment alive for the foreseeable future. The Chrysler is also a very safe vehicle, having been just awarded a five star safety rating from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The Pacifica won five stars for frontal and side impact collisions, side barrier impact and side pole trial for both driver and passengers in the front and rear. It also won four stars in the rollover resistance test, which is usual for larger vehicles. Overall, this is an excellent result for the Chrysler as it comes on the back of top marks awarded from the Top Safety Pick+ award from the U.S. IIHS.

The only caveat is that the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica must be ordered with the optional automatic emergency braking to benefit from five star safety. That is normal across the automotive industry right now though, so it’s all good.

2017 Chrysler Pacifica
The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is an all new model that breathes new life into the minivan segment. It brings a sense of style, modernity and practicality to the market which is resonating well with buyers.

The design is modern, with a definite aero twist. That sloped front end with hood and windscreen look as though they cut through the air like butter while the more standard van-shaped rear offers lots of interior space for the family and their cargo.

Inside the Pacifica is a nice place to be. It is spacious, light and the seating is comfortable whatever row you’re in. As the driver you have a commanding position with supportive seating, a well laid out dash and that rotary shifter in the centre console. Visibility is good all round thanks to all that glass, making the minivan quite straightforward to manoeuvre.

Under that sloped hood is a Chrysler Pentastar V6. It’s a 3.6-litre engine that produces 287 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. It sends that power to the front wheels via a nine speed automatic transmission.

There are five trims, LX, Touring, Touring-L, Touring-L Plus and Limited. All models are generously appointed, featuring running lights, heated mirrors, tyre inflator kit, active noise cancellation, active grille shutters, tinted windows, tri-zone air conditioning and Stow n’ Go seating. Travel up the trim levels to get everything from LED lighting, touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, surround-view cameras and a whole lot more.

The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is a great family mover that is as happy doing the school and grocery run as it is doing a cross country road trip. It really is a great car. See it for yourself at Parkway Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Mississauga, 2260 Battleford Road, Mississauga, ON, L5N 3K6.
